Position Overview:
The Senior Lease Analyst will be responsible for abstracting, interpreting, and communicating complex commercial lease language from both standard and non-standard lease agreements for properties under acquisition consideration. The Senior Lease Analyst will be responsible for entering the abstracted lease data into a template for import into Yardi and assisting the Associate Director, Lease Analysis with quality control and approval of lease abstractions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lease Abstraction
- Abstract accurate information from complex leases and related legal documents. Data will include:
- critical dates (rent commencement, expiration, option periods, notice dates, etc.);
- revenue information (rental, taxes, insurance, common area maintenance, management, administrative fees, etc.);
- lease parties (landlord, tenant, guarantor, ground lessor, pilot lessor, etc.);
- landlord obligations (maintenance, capital expenditures, tenant improvements, etc.), and
- risk related non-financial clauses (assignment/sublease, ROFO, environmental, etc.).
- Accurately input determinations into a template for import into Yardi for audit approval and ultimate consumption by other departments.
- Coordinate and communicate critical information with the Legal Acquisitions department to ensure timely completion of abstraction to meet closing deadlines.
- Work with various other departments to ensure relevant data is available for reporting and action upon transaction close.
- Manage all changes to the abstraction template used for data transfer into Yardi.
- Provide guidance to other department personnel regarding abstracted information, as necessary.
Electronic Transfer Load (ETL) Trainer
- Coordinate ETL Master Template updates;
- Provide training and technical guidance on ETL Template to peers, paralegals, and vendors;
Backup Support to Associate Director, Lease Analysis
- Assist the Associate Director, Lease Analysis with ensuring final data integrity and accuracy of ETL/Lease Abstracts by performing review/quality control of work completed by peer(s) and/or vendor;
- Assist the Associate Director, Lease Analysis, with developing and testing Lease Analysis forms in the Salesforce database.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the commercial real estate administration industry and/or paralegal field, with exposure to lease abstraction processes.
- Experience in either the landlord or tenant sector is a plus.
- Familiarity with international lease abstraction processes is a plus.
- Paralegal certificate is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in lease administration software, particularly Yardi, with experience in data entry, reporting, and lease abstraction.
- Familiarity with ETL (Electronic Transfer Load) processes, including template management and training.
- Ability to read and interpret complex legal documents (leases, REAs, amendments) to extract and abstract critical data.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to review and ensure the accuracy of data and documentation.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical lease details to diverse audiences.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting. Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and troubleshoot issues related to data integrity and lease abstraction.
What you will get in return:
The hourly rate for this role is in the range of $30.89 - $44.69 ($64,255 - $92,950). You may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and an annual discretionary stock award, (dependent on date of hire) to be discussed during the initial phone interview. Base salary and total compensation package determined by the candidate's experience, knowledge, education, skills, performance, and abilities, as well as internal equity, company performance, and alignment with market data.
