The role:

We are looking for a Network Ops Engineer to join our team. This position will be responsible for the full life cycle of a wide range of components in our IT infrastructure.

  • desire to learn about, and be involved in adjacent disciplines, such as automation, datacenter administration, cyber security, active directory & corporate IT.
  • Degree in engineering or computer-related field or equivalent on-the-job training

What you will be doing:

  • Participate in support of our network infrastructure, such as Switches,Routers, Firewalls, VPN
  • Monitor the systems to detect issues proactively or respond to the alerts
  • Analyze logs from various infrastructure sources
  • Create log alerts and work on resolving them 
  • Triage team ticket queue, resolve or escalate incoming tickets  
  • Work with end users when needed (VPN, 2FA, help with OS updates)
  • Inventory and documentation upkeep
  • Generate various reports as needed
  • Participate in on-call pager rotation

What you need to know:

  • Experience with enterprise grade network equipment, such as Cisco, Juniper, etc
  • In-depth understanding of the foundational protocols, such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, IPSEC, NAT, SNMP, SMTP, TLS
  • Switching/routing protocols and concepts (VLANS, VRF, etc)
  • Understanding of stateful and L7 firewalls
  • Experience working on and troubleshooting Linux and Windows environments
  • At least one scripting language, like Bash or Python
  • Willing and able to work U.S. East Coast hours (9am-6pm ET)
  • Note that this will be a contractor role

  • CCNA, JNCIA certification
