The role:
We are looking for a Network Ops Engineer to join our team. This position will be responsible for the full life cycle of a wide range of components in our IT infrastructure.

- desire to learn about, and be involved in adjacent disciplines, such as automation, datacenter administration, cyber security, active directory & corporate IT.
- Degree in engineering or computer-related field or equivalent on-the-job training
What you will be doing:
- Participate in support of our network infrastructure, such as Switches,Routers, Firewalls, VPN
- Monitor the systems to detect issues proactively or respond to the alerts
- Analyze logs from various infrastructure sources
- Create log alerts and work on resolving them
- Triage team ticket queue, resolve or escalate incoming tickets
- Work with end users when needed (VPN, 2FA, help with OS updates)
- Inventory and documentation upkeep
- Generate various reports as needed
- Participate in on-call pager rotation
What you need to know:
- Experience with enterprise grade network equipment, such as Cisco, Juniper, etc
- In-depth understanding of the foundational protocols, such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, IPSEC, NAT, SNMP, SMTP, TLS
- Switching/routing protocols and concepts (VLANS, VRF, etc)
- Understanding of stateful and L7 firewalls
- Experience working on and troubleshooting Linux and Windows environments
- At least one scripting language, like Bash or Python
- Willing and able to work U.S. East Coast hours (9am-6pm ET)
- Note that this will be a contractor role

- Splunk or ELK
- CCNA, JNCIA certification
