Compensation:
New hires for this position typically start between $28.08 and $35.10 hourly/annually, depending on factors such as work location, experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, internal equity, and market conditions. While the full pay range is provided to support pay transparency, individual compensation will vary within the range based on these factors.

What you'll do
The INVEST Case Manager plays a critical role in advancing Pioneer’s entrepreneurship training program by supporting justice-involved individuals as they build viable businesses and long-term economic stability. This role leads participant recruitment, screening and onboarding, and provides individualized coaching, resource navigation and accountability to help participants overcome barriers that could impact their ability to fully engage in and complete the program.
Working in close partnership with Vault89, which leads curriculum delivery, the Case Manager ensures participants remain stable, engaged and on track throughout the INVEST experience. This position combines direct service, coordination and data-driven performance tracking to strengthen participant outcomes, including program completion, business launch and long-term stability.
PRIMARY/ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead recruitment, outreach and screening of INVEST participants, ensuring readiness and alignment with program expectations
- Conduct participant assessments and develop individualized action plans focused on removing barriers to stability and entrepreneurship
- Partner closely with Vault89 to support participant selection, onboarding and alignment with cohort expectations
- Provide consistent one-on-one coaching focused on stabilizing “life barriers” including housing, legal issues, financial challenges, recovery and other reentry needs
- Serve as the primary point of support and accountability, helping participants stay engaged and on track throughout the program
- Maintain strong awareness of curriculum content and timelines to proactively identify risks to participation and intervene early
- Connect participants to critical resources including housing, behavioral health, legal support, workforce services and capital access as appropriate
- Track participant engagement and progress, maintaining accurate and timely documentation of interactions, barriers addressed and key outcomes
- Ensure timely, accurate data entry across systems and prepare reports to support internal leadership, funders and program compliance
- Monitor and report on outcomes including program completion, business launches and participant stability indicators
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling or a related field or equivalent combination of education, training and lived or professional experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in case management, reentry services or a related field
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those impacted by incarceration, poverty, substance use or other systemic barriers
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, maintain boundaries and support participants through complex challenges
- Ability to assess individual needs, develop actionable plans, and provide consistent coaching and accountability
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to navigate crises and adapt to changing participant needs
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, including the ability to manage documentation and track participant progress
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Lived experience with the criminal legal system, recovery or other barriers to employment, with the ability to draw on that experience in a professional and strengths-based way
- Familiarity with community resources related to housing, behavioral health, legal services and workforce development
- Experience with data tracking systems and outcomes reporting in a human services or workforce setting
- Experience supporting entrepreneurship, small business development or navigating local business ecosystems
- Master’s degree in a related field
