What you'll do
As a Peer Bridger you will promote recovery by engaging with clients and assisting them in establishing community connections. This will be done post-discharge and during the clients transition back into the community.  You will function as a role model through sharing your own lived experience with behavioral health challenges. You will meet program participants at the facility for initial engagement, relationship building, goal setting and to provide support through discharge. You will help re-engage the client with family, friends and other social support networks.

 

What you'll bring

(Any equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable)

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Must obtain and maintain an Agency Affiliated Counselor credential (Must apply within 7 days of employment).
  • Must be approved by Washington state HCA to bill for services
  • Lived experience of substance use recovery and the willingness to share their own experiences
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Valid Washington driver’s license or the ability to travel via public transportation
  • Washington Certified Peer Specialist with at least two years’ experience working as a peer

 

Preferably you'll bring

  • Experience with state substance use residential treatment facility services
  • Experience working with people from diverse cultures
