Peter Pan Seafood Co. is currently looking for an Accountant in our Bellevue, WA corporate office. We are a fast-paced organization that has experienced rapid growth in both our Alaska operations and our value-added seafood products.

Peter Pan is looking to add an Accountant who can provide month end closing, reconciliations, and Treasury experience to the team.  This position will lead our day-to-day Treasury transactions and bank reconciliations.  This is part of a small team with a broader range of responsibilities, so the ideal candidate will also come from a mid-size environment where they got to participate in a lot of functions.  Our finance/accounting team shares our wild Alaska roots and has an entrepreneurial spirit.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares the daily cash position, advises the Treasurer & CFO on short-term cash management, and coordinates the daily cash flow & funding needs.
  • Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations.
  • Perform full cycle accounting including preparation of general ledger journal entries and reconciles general ledger accounts ensuring integrity and accuracy of accounting records and financial reporting.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasting. Provide reporting for budget vs actual and prior year variances.
  • Upload Positive Pay and manage daily payments from corporate and Alaska plants
  • Prepare Quarterly and annual tax returns for AK Fisheries tax and local sales tax

EXPERIENCE, TALENT AND EDUCATION:

BA/BS Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience

  • 2 - 3+ years experience as an Accountant
  • Seafood or Manufacturing background preferred, with experience in product costing and inventory control.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office (including advanced Excel).
  • Exposure to Treasury functions
