Facilities Assistant (Contract/Onsite)

The Engineering Services/Facilities department is responsible for providing maintenance and support services for the Northpointe facility. Additionally, the team supports current projects, daily operations, and site goal objectives, and ensures compliance with regulatory, quality, and corporate requirements.  
The Facilities Assistant will spend 90% of their time completing assigned Facilities Work Orders and 10% of their time keeping general office, break, and restroom areas clean and stocked with supplies over the course of the business day.  
This position is an ONSITE role at our Lynnwood, WA plant which is a cGMP production scale manufacturing facility for our product, Leukine® (sargramostim), a therapeutic glycoprotein.  The Facilities Assistant is required to work five days per week from 7 a.m. to 3:30/4:00 p.m.  
  • The Facilities Technician completes assigned Facilities Work Orders consisting of planned and unplanned work including:
    • Lighting maintenance
    • Conference room, event setup, and employee moves
    • Vendor coordination/walk ins (landscaper, electrician, breakroom supplies, uniforms, etc.) 
    • Seasonal upkeep/maintenance of facility including ice abatement and snow removal.
  • “Day Porter” type assignments consisting of routine and triage tasks including:
    • Perform janitorial duties as assigned
    • Reports unsafe conditions or facilities repairs to Supervisor 
    • Ensures stock of cleaning supplies are communicated needed.   
  • Ability to perform physical work including sweeping, mopping, surface cleaning, and trash removal.
  • Ability, and willingness to work on knees and ladders and with hand/power tools with proper training and qualification.
  • Solid English language skills, both oral and written, for this highly collaborative role. Willingness and ability to clearly express opinions and ask questions. 
  • Excellent customer service skills, including a bias towards action, the ability and willingness to ask questions, is comfortable working within a diverse team and across multiple functions, exhibits a consistently constructive attitude, and is adaptable and at ease with handling unexpected challenges.
  • Proven ability to be self-directed and self-starting each day.
  • Skilled at working on computers including basic knowledge of email.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience working in a cGMP Biotech/Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience working as a Facilities Assistant and/or Day Porter or similar role. e.g., “handyperson”.
  • Degree or certificate in specific trade program. 
  • 1+ years of experience working in a GMP manufacturing facility.
Special Physical Requirements:  
  • This is a highly physical role. At a minimum, the individual must be able to:
    • Lift up to 30 lbs unassisted
    • Work in a clean room environment which requires specific PPE/gowning   
    • Stand and walk throughout the facility unassisted.
    • Bend, stretch, and reach overhead.
    • Navigate climbing ladders and stairs unassisted.
Alternate Work Hours Detail:  
    • Up to 5% overtime per week may be required.

The current pay range for this position is $20.00-25.00/hour: Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. Your salary will vary depending on several factors including your qualifications and experience.
