About the Role

Under the supervision of the Staff Accounting Supervisor, the selected candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to: 

 

Responsibilities

  • Daily monitoring of interagency settlement wire approval tracking sheet. Communicate any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Add, update, and track all wires in the wire tracking sheet to provide proper oversight of outgoing and incoming wires. Including validation to SAP.
  • Monitor preliminary reports for interagency settlement and review final reports to determine if an adjustment is necessary.
  • Update the parking tracking sheet after month-end closing to verify the amounts entered in SAP are correct.
  • Work with Cash Receipt desk to identify and code incoming cash receipts

Additional Information

  • This position is represented by the Communications Workers of America (CWA) Union.

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Must have completed a minimum of nine (9) college credits in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • In lieu of credits, minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience can be accepted.

 

Desired Qualifications

 

  • Good oral communication, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal staff and external professionals at all levels.
  • General knowledge of Port Authority accounting and financial structure.
  • Demonstrated PC and data entry skills
  • Working knowledge of Excel and comparable software database applications
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
