Description
Responsible for overseeing the registration, admitting and financial clearance processes that include, but are not limited to Patient Service Representatives, Insurance Verifier, Cash Control, Utilization Resource Specialist, Pre-Registration, Lead and or Supervisor. Overall responsibility for department schedules that meet the needs of the customers of Palomar Medical Center. Provides leadership, training, education and professional communication for all staff with financial clearance, admission and registration duties. Assists with development of capital and operating budgets for the department. Partners with the revenue cycle team to improve the registration process and revenue stream. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree with 5 years healthcare or related experience
Minimum Experience: 3 - 4 years acute hospital admitting experience with stepped levels of responsibility
Preferred Experience: 5 - 7 years acute hospital admitting experience with direct admitting management experience

Required License: Valid Driver's License
