NCSY inspires Jewish teens through informal Jewish education, retreats, and summer programs. NCSY empowers teens through leadership development and guidance to become passionately committed leaders of the Jewish community and instruments for positive change and renewal. 

 

A JSU Club is a school-based Jewish student group run by NCSY’s Jewish Student Union (JSU), providing Jewish teens in public and non-Jewish private high schools with meaningful opportunities to connect, learn, and build community. Through engaging discussions, social activities, leadership development, and Jewish experiences, JSU clubs foster identity, belonging, and pride in a warm and inclusive environment

 

The Orthodox Union (OU) is one of the largest Orthodox Jewish organizations in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol, , is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.

 

Position Summary:

NCSY is seeking a skilled Reporting & Power BI Specialist to provide maternity leave coverage within the Systems & Data Department. This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing executive dashboards and ensuring continuity of high-quality reporting and insights across the organization.

The specific focus of this position is supporting the continued growth of the JSU initiative through clear, reliable, and actionable reporting for leadership.

This is a 2–3 month temporary position with the potential to continue based on organizational needs and performance.

 

Responsibilities:

Dashboard Development & Maintenance (Primary Focus)

  • Maintain and enhance existing Power BI dashboards used by management and field staff
  • Build new dashboards aligned with evolving KPI and reporting needs
  • Ensure data accuracy, performance, and reliability of reporting outputs
  • Improve visual clarity and usability for non-technical audiences

JSU Reporting Support

  • Maintain and refine reporting that supports visibility into JSU reach, engagement, and growth
  • Partner with initiative leadership to translate strategic questions into measurable insights
  • Proactively surface trends that inform planning and decision-making

Reporting Modernization & Continuity

  • Support the ongoing modernization of reporting processes and tools
  • Assist in transitioning legacy reports into more dynamic dashboard formats
  • Document reporting logic and structure to ensure sustainability and continuity

Data Analysis & Collaboration

  • Write SQL queries to generate datasets as needed
  • Collaborate with the Systems & Data team to identify and resolve data quality issues
  • Support alignment between reporting outputs and evolving data infrastructure

 

Qualifications:

Required

  • Demonstrated experience developing dashboards in Microsoft Power BI
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Ability to translate business questions into clear, actionable visualizations
  • Strong organizational and independent execution skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Preferred

  • Experience supporting management-level reporting
  • Familiarity with evolving data environments and reporting modernization efforts
  • Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
  • Experience with Microsoft Reporting Services
  • Basic familiarity with Snowflake

 

Salary:

The salary range for this position is $1,500–$1,800 per week, commensurate with experience.
