Who We Are:  

The Emerging Career Professionals (ECP) department is a new and innovative initiative of the OU, dedicated to empowering and supporting Orthodox Jewish young professionals. Through targeted programs and partnerships, ECP seeks to foster meaningful Jewish engagement, leadership development, and community connection in key cities across North America. 

 
The Orthodox Union (OU) is one of the largest Orthodox Jewish organizations in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol,, is found on thelabels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products. 

 

Position Summary:

The ECP Program & Community Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, recruitment flow, and participant engagement of ECP’s Leadership programming. They will be the primary leader of the execution and rollout of ECP Leadership programs, ensuring that programs run smoothly, participants feel connected and supported, and community engagement remains active and responsive across initiatives.

 

The Program & Community Coordinator plays a critical role in translating ECP programming into meaningful participant experiences and maintaining the momentum, warmth, and consistency that drive long-term engagement.

 

Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Participant Onboarding

  • Recruit participants and emerging leaders into ECP programming
  • Maintain onboarding processes and participation tracking systems across programs
  • Follow up with participants and leaders to ensure strong engagement and retention
  • Support outreach efforts and relationship-building with prospective participants
  • Help maintain clear and organized participant flow across initiatives

 

Program Execution & Coordination

  • Coordinate logistics and day-to-day execution of ECP programs and events
  • Ensure programs run smoothly, efficiently, and on schedule
  • Support communication and coordination between staff, leaders, and participants
  • Coordinate operational details and troubleshoot real-time program needs
  • Maintain strong organization and follow-through across multiple initiatives

 

Community Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Serve as a consistent relational presence within the ECP community
  • Build strong relationships with participants, leaders, and community members
  • Ensure participants feel welcomed, supported, and connected to ECP
  • Maintain regular communication and responsiveness across programs
  • Help strengthen ongoing engagement and community continuity between events and initiatives

 

Program Support & Implementation

  • Support the implementation of leadership programming and participant experiences
  • Coordinate alongside the Leadership Educator to ensure leadership initiatives are executed effectively
  • Help maintain consistency and alignment across ECP programming
  • Provide operational and relational support for departmental initiatives and national programs

 

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in community engagement or relationship-driven nonprofit work
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through and responsiveness
  • Ability to manage multiple moving pieces simultaneously
  • Warm, energetic, relational, and people-oriented
  • Strong problem-solving instincts and operational ownership
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and programs
  • Willingness for occasional travel to communities across North America
  • Personal and professional alignment with ECP values and vision

 

Salary & Benefits: 

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000, commensurate with experience.
