Job Summary: Responsible to assist the Food & Beverage Manager for the overall operation of a designated F&B outlet on an assigned shift creating an exciting environment which attracts and retains gaming guests while contributing to the operational success of the food, beverage, and casino operations within the established operational standards. The F&B Supervisor ensures excellent service is being delivered by the F&B Team on their assigned shift.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Makes recommendations to hire, terminate, promote, demote, transfer, provide training opportunities, recommend merit increases, evaluate performance, create, and adjust performance standards, create and/or delegate staff scheduling, invoke disciplinary action and provide for the fair and equitable treatment of all Team Members.
  • Fosters a culture of learning and development; supports individual growth through continuous feedback to achieve personal and professional goals.
  • Conducts oneself in a positive and professional manner, acting as a role model for all Team Members.
  • Exhibits Leadership skills through the continuous evaluation, guidance, and encouragement of Team Members.
  • Maintains knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events at Odawa Casino Resort.
  • Recommends process and customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy.
  • Uses effective approaches for choosing a course of action or develops appropriate solutions to issues that may arise. 
  • Greets all guests and Team Members in a friendly, open manner.
  • Fill in wherever needed within the department when short on staff.
  • Prepares and cooks food, as needed, adhering to all Tribal food service sanitation and safety handling guidelines.
  • Monitors and maintains beverage cost control methods and procedures.
  • Prepares methods and procedures whereby beverage costs and supplies are requisitioned and charged to proper areas.
  • Monitors and maintains beverage sequence of service.
  • Monitors guests’ consumption of alcohol and intervenes as necessary according to company policy.
  • Communicates variances from the established standards to the Food & Beverage Management Team.
  • Completes the required daily financial tools and reports.
  • Works with Finance and IT teams to ensure that all revenue is captured and reported in an accurate and relevant manner.
  • Solicits guest feedback by direct interaction and comment cards.
  • Acts immediately on any guest complaint to ensure that corrections are made and that 100% Satisfaction Guarantees invocations are made.
  • Maintains a neat, clean, organized, safe and comfortable work environment.
  • Adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies in an ethical manner.
  • Completes payroll on a weekly basis.
  • Places orders for dining room supplies and equipment maintenance as needed.
  • Maintains professional grooming and appearance according to established policy.
  • Maintains attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  • Completes all required training satisfactorily.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Works at other properties as needed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent and four (4) years’ experience, two (2) of which were as a Food and/or Beverage Supervisor or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Wines and Mixology required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, leadership, communication, team building and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Knowledge of all phases of Beverage.
  • Ability to work liquor control system and trouble shoot if necessary.
  • Must complete TIPS training and certification within thirty (30) days of employment or provide proof of current certifications and must keep current.
  • Must be able to handle busy periods during peak service times.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel and reach and be able to stand or walk for long periods of time with infrequent and brief rest periods.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, experience using Microsoft Office products or related software and ability to quickly learn specialized software programs.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Must read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Must be flexible with shifts and days off with the ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, special events, etc., as needed.
  • You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
  • Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke-filled environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance with the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.
