Job Summary:  Responsible for the successful operations of the Table Games area, assuring game protection, and that Guests have a memorable gaming experience.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Makes recommendations to hire, terminate, promote, demote, transfer, provide training opportunities, recommends merit increases, evaluates performance, completes all written documentation in regard to Annual Evaluations, creates and adjusts performance standards, provide for the fair and equitable treatment of all Team Members.
  • Foster a culture of learning and development; support individual growth through continuous feedback to achieve personal and professional goals.
  • Exhibits Leadership skills through the continuous evaluation, guidance and encouragement of Team Members.
  • Conducts oneself in a positive and professional manner, acting as a role model for all Team Members.
  • Greet all guests and Team Members in a friendly, open manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events at Odawa Casino Resort.
  • Recommends process and customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy.
  • Monitors gaming play on assigned tables for mistakes, fills, credits, money changes, and game protection.
  • Interacts with guests to provide a memorable gaming experience.
  • Enforces Table Games Policies and Procedures.
  • Compiles paperwork as required for assigned shift.
  • Keeps the Table Games Shift Manager informed of status of assigned Table Games.
  • Handles minor disputes and corrects mistakes on assigned tables.
  • Monitors guest consumption and respond according to TIPS training.
  • Responsible for following established departmental procedures and all applicable laws and show responsibility by practicing methods that were taught through our TIPS Program.
  • Uses effective approaches for choosing a course of action or develops appropriate solutions to issues that may arise. 
  • Enters table game and player data into computer system.
  • Attend all meetings as required.
  • Complete all required training satisfactorily.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Work at other properties as needed.
  • Performs all other job related duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have two (2) years of experience in Table Games including (1) year supervisory training or experience.
  • Must be proficient in three (3) major games offered at Odawa Casino Resort; Blackjack plus Roulette, Craps, and/or Poker.
  • Must be able to pass an audition/test based on previous Table Games experience.
  • Must have knowledge of (TMICS) Tribal Minimum Internal Control Standards.
  • Must be able to efficiently supervise up to eight (8) games during a shift.
  • Must have excellent communication skills as demonstrated during audition, introductory period, throughout employment at OCR.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and possess tact and diplomacy when dealing with verbal confrontations.
  • Excellent written communication, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have general knowledge of computers, word processing software and gaming management software.
  • Must have the ability to quickly learn specialized software programs.
  • Must read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Must be flexible with shift and days off with ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, special events, etc., as needed.
  • You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
  • Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission, and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.
