Job Summary: Prepares food and beverage and serves deli, bar or banquet patrons at the Odawa Casino Hotel.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Greet all guests and Team Members in a friendly, open manner.
  • Conducts oneself in a positive and professional manner, acting as a role model for all Team Members.
  • Maintain respectful control over guests at all times and assist management by informing them of any guest complaints.
  • Set up breakfast items in a buffet style setting of hot entrees, pastries, fruits, coffee, cereals, breads, muffins, condiments and juices.
  • Arrange items on counters, shelves, deli cases, etc., to make an attractive display.
  • Post or write specials on boards.
  • Operate a cash register/POS (Point of Sale) system, ringing in the proper amount into the register and giving the guest the correct change; accounts for all cash, charge and complimentary sales according to established policies and procedures; maintains the integrity of all financial controls and responsibility.
  • Stay educated as to coupon offers and special promotions and how they are applied.
  • Maintain knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events at Odawa Casino Resort.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe and comfortable work environment for Team Members and guests.
  • Inspect work area, and observe workers and patrons to ensure compliance with occupational, health and safety standards and local liquor regulations.
  • Remove full trash bags from receptacles and vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
  • Replenish supplies daily; maintain inventory controls.
  • Maintain professional grooming and appearance.
  • Attend all meetings as required.
  • Complete all required training satisfactorily.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Work at other properties as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Must read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Must have good guest service skills.
  • Must have good math skills including the ability to correctly count change.
  • Must have ability to handle busy periods during peak service times.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirement such as significant lifting up to fifty (50) pounds, along with bending, reaching, stopping, pushing, pulling, and ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be flexible with shift and days off with the ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and special events, etc., as needed.
  • You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTTB Gaming Regulatory Commission, and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.
