Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing new hire and ongoing training and accompanying documentation. Maintains records pertaining to DOT physicals, certifications, driver’s license, vehicle maintenance, insurance, passenger forms, fuel forms, vehicle inspection forms and accident forms.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage, coordinate and schedule regular maintenance for all company vehicles to ensure compliance.
- Troubleshoot vehicle issues and make minor repairs as directed by the Facilities Manager.
- Keep records of vehicle condition, trips, fuel and passenger(s).
- Ensure all certifications are up-to-date and insurance binders are in all OCR vehicles.
- Collect, organize, and analyze fuel forms, passenger forms, vehicle inspection forms, vehicle maintenance forms and accident forms.
- Conduct all Transportation department related training programs as well as new hire training.
- Maintains schedule and coordinates all company vehicle requests.
- Communicate pertinent Transportation information to the Facilities Manager.
- Responsible for covering call-ins and schedule shortfalls.
- Drive passengers and vehicles to and from pre-selected destination(s).
- Operates radios or similar devices to communicate with Casino and other company personnel.
- Operates vehicles safely and, in compliance with all motor vehicle laws and speed limits ensuring the safety of all passengers and utilization of Odawa Casino Resort standards of service.
- Operates cell phone only when the vehicle is in park or where legally approved hands free regulation allows.
- Keeps records of vehicle condition, trips, fuel and passenger.
- Greet all guests and Team Members in a friendly open manner.
- Conducts oneself in a positive and professional manner, acting as a role model for all Team Members.
- Maintains knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events at Odawa Casino Resort.
- Is aware of continual updates on changes in motor vehicle laws and license requirements.
- Know all emergency procedures and ensure passenger safety at all times.
- Responsible for vehicle presentation, keeping vehicles cleaned, polished, and in appropriate operating condition.
- Maintain a neat, clean, organized, safe and comfortable work environment for Team Members and guests.
- Cleans and services vehicles with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
- Performs routine safety check of vehicle at the beginning of each shift and ensures that vehicle is always clean, inside and out.
- May make minor repairs.
- Adhere to regulatory, safety, departmental, and company policies.
- Respond to guest and staff complaints within department and submit written report of incident to Facilities Manager.
- Recommends process and customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy.
- Assist Facilities Manager in development of department forms as necessary.
- Attend all meetings as required.
- Completes all required training satisfactorily.
- Always maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Work at other properties as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have at least two (2) years’ experience in the Transportation industry.
- Must have a valid Michigan Chauffeurs License or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) endorsement and be insurable through our insurance carrier.
- Must have knowledge of Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) regulations.
- Must have a current, or be able to obtain a DOT medical card within thirty (30) days and keep it up to date.
- Must have mechanical knowledge and be able to troubleshoot issues and complete minor repairs of vehicles.
- Must read, write and speak English fluently.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn specialized software programs.
- Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the job.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects during busy and stressful situations.
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
- Must be able to prepare reports effectively.

- Frequent travel from building to building and local in-town travel required.
- Must be able to lift weight up to fifty (50) pounds.
- You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
- Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke-filled environment.
- Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance with the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.
