Job Summary:  Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the dining experience in the Sage and Prestige LoungeEnsure excellent guest service, maintain high food and service standards, and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved by the Team Members on their assigned shift. Creates a warm and welcoming environment for guests while also ensuring the restaurant’s financial success

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Has authority to hire, terminate, promote, demote, transfer, provide training opportunities, recommend merit increases, evaluate performance, create and adjust performance standards, create and/or delegate staff scheduling to optimize performance and productivity, invoke disciplinary action and demonstrate for the fair and equitable treatment of all Team Members.
  • Fosters a culture of learning and development, supports individual growth through continuous feedback to achieve personal and professional goals.
  • Exhibits Leadership skills through the continuous evaluation, guidance, and encouragement of Team Members.
  • Conducts daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with Team Members and guests.
  • Fill in wherever needed when short on staff.
  • Lead and mentor a team of servers, bartenders, and support staff to ensure a high standard of service and professionalism
  • Oversee the quality and presentation of food and beverages, ensuring they meet the restaurant’s standardsThis may involve working with the Executive Chef to develop menus and ensure timely service.
  • Implement and maintain operational procedures and standards for service, cleanliness, and quality.
  • Handle all aspects of guest relations, ensuring that every guest has a memorable dining experience.
  • Solicits guest feedback by direct interaction and comment cards.
  • Resolve guest complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitors guests’ consumption of alcohol and intervenes as necessary according to company policy.
  • Manages the dining room environment, including cleanliness, ambiance, and overall presentation
  • Conducts daily inspection of dining and kitchen areas.
  • Oversee inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper maintenance of equipment.
  • Works closely with other departments to plan and coordinate special events, such as VIP private dinners or parties, ensuring they are executed smoothly.
  • Must utilize Point of Sales (POS) systems, input menus, and process all reports as necessary.
  • Adheres to and enforces regulatory, departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events at Odawa Casino Resort.
  • Required to work liquor control system and troubleshoot if necessary.
  • Communicates variances from the established budget to the Executive Chef.
  • Process payroll through the company approved system on a weekly basis
  • Completes the required daily financial tools and reports.
  • Analyzes restaurant profit and loss statements monthly.
  • Maintains fiscal responsibilities.
  • Complete the required daily financial reports.
  • Track server sales.
  • Work closely with Security and Surveillance to maintain processes and integrity of policy and service in a highly regulated environment.
  • Place orders for dining room and kitchen supplies.
  • Conducts monthly inventory for all dining and kitchen areas.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe and comfortable work environment for Team Members and guests.
  • Attend all meetings as required.
  • Complete all required training satisfactorily.
  • Always maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • May work at other properties as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of high-end restaurant front & back of house management experience (combined).
  • Knowledge of Wines and fine wine pairings.
  • Knowledge of all phases of fine dining service.
  • Must complete TIPS training and certification within thirty (30) days of employment or provide proof of current certifications and must keep current.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have excellent computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products, and ability to quickly learn specialized software packages.
  • Proficiency in point of sales systems, liquor control systems and purchasing systems.
  • Computer knowledge of current restaurant yielding systems.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Must read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Must be flexible with shift and days off.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements such as significant lifting up to fifty (50) lbs., standing, bending, reaching, stopping, pushing, and pulling.
  • You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
  • Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke-filled environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance with the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.
