The Marketing, Creative, Content and Digital (MCD) department is a diverse team of marketing strategy, digital, brand storytelling, design and content experts dedicated to fostering cross-functional collaboration and innovation all in the furtherance of the NYRR mission, strategic pillars, and goals. Together, they amplify our brand’s voice, connect authentically with our audience, and inspire action and growth.
About the Position
The Marketing Coordinator, Community Resources & Training supports the execution of marketing initiatives across NYRR’s Training and Community Impact portfolios. This role assists with campaign coordination, creative asset production, and marketing communications to help promote NYRR programs and initiatives.
Job Responsibilities (primary and secondary duties):
- This position will support programs such as:
- Training products including NYRR Group Training, NYRR Unlocked 26.2, virtual training programs such as NYRR x Runna.
- Community initiatives including Rising New York Road Runners school program, Run for the Future, Open Run, Striders, Volunteers, Race Free, among others.
- Runner Resources such as running education, health and safety, mental well-being, among others.
- Support the implementation of annual marketing plans for Training and Community programs.
- Be an active collaborator in defining marketing strategies.
- Write creative briefs and coordinate development of print, digital, and video marketing assets with internal teams.
- Support the implementation of communications across owned and paid channels including email, web, and social media.
- Track campaign performance metrics and assist with reporting.
- Become subject matter “expert,” doing industry research and share best-in-class marketing opportunities.
- Coordinate project timelines, campaign calendars, marketing deliverables, and craft meeting recaps.
- Collaborate, communicate, and socialize with internal and external stakeholders.
- Other responsibilities as needed
Job Requirements:
Experience:
- 1+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or project coordination preferred.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, sports management, or related field preferred.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong writing and verbal communications skills and an analytical mindset
- Ability to manage concurrent projects in fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) Strong organizational and project coordination skills
- Understanding of runner behavior preferred
- Understanding of community building programs preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the New York City running community and run clubs
- Ability to work occasional weekends or evenings
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Ability to speak another language strongly preferred
Other Requirements:
- All staff are required to work the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon, RBC Brooklyn Half Marathon, and the TCS NYC Marathon.
Salary: $55,000 (Overtime Eligible)
