Hourly Rate: Undergraduate $17.00
If requested, HDC will support an intern’s application for credit or stipend from their school/university.

The New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is a public benefit corporation and the nation’s largest municipal Housing Finance Agency. HDC seeks to increase the supply of multi-family housing, stimulate economic growth, and revitalize neighborhoods by financing the creation and preservation of affordable housing for low-, moderate-, and middle-income New Yorkers. HDC’s programs support the construction and preservation of multi-family affordable housing in New York City.
Position Summary:
The Credit Risk Department is tasked with assessing and monitoring credit risk exposure throughout HDC. Key responsibilities of the Credit Risk Department include:
- Coordinating Credit Committee activities
- Reviewing all credit proposals before distribution to Credit Committee members for approval
- Assessing Corporation-wide counterparty exposure for diversification and credit risk
- Assessing the Corporation’s investment portfolio for diversification and credit risk exposure
- Reviewing and approving all financial counterparties
- Other special projects
Responsibilities:
- Learn, experience, and assist the Credit Risk department in a variety of financial and analytical projects
- Develop credit skills by assisting the Credit Risk team with analysis and special projects
- Gain exposure to affordable housing finance
- Coordinate with various departments within HDC as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (i.e., Finance, Public Policy, Economics, etc.)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
