Lithtex NW is seeking a Pre-Press Operator to join our team! 
 
We are looking for a customer-focused team player with experience and comfortability in operating printing equipment. This role requires autonomously setting up and running print production jobs, completing quality control checks to ensure the meeting of customer standards, and completing scheduled press maintenance. We are in search of a candidate for our growing team in Mt Vernon! The ideal candidate would be able to handle a fast-paced environment, remain calm under pressure and have great attention to detail.

Location: 
Mt Vernon, WA
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm
Pay: $20.00 - $26.27 per hour
 
Requirements: 
  • Knowledge of design, layout, image & color editing software, specifically: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat
  • Ability to recognize, address and troubleshoot file issues
  • Knowledge of the digital printing process and print file preparation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of variable data printing for mail purposes and familiarity with USPS bulk mail procedures
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Analyze files provided by clients for required fonts, colors, sizing, resolution, bleed, binding and other requirements based on printing method
  • Read and comprehend job tickets and ensure that files match the job specs
  • Identify missing or problematic components of job and communicate accordingly
  • Troubleshoot and resolve file issues to ensure accurate printing
  • Generate proofs (digital and hardcopy) for customer approval
  • Create print files for various printers
  • Create variable data files for printing and mailing, coordinating with mail department to ensure accuracy for USPS requirements
  • Coordinate with management and co-workers to organize & schedule work for smoothest operations
  • Enter, archive, and retrieve information on Mac and PC based equipment
  • Manage pre-press archives
  • Print envelopes as needed and occasionally assist with bindery/digital printing operations
  • Perform light maintenance of equipment, including software updates and replacement of consumable supplies as needed
