Northwest Center is seeking an energetic individual to join our team as the National Director of Government Contracts.  The National Director is accountable for accelerating growth, building strong strategic alliances, and maintaining current government relationships, all to benefit the mission of NWC. We are seeking an expert in government contracts to expand our geographic footprint and service offerings to various government agencies, emphasizing the AbilityOne and SourceAmerica programs.


Position: 
National Director of Government Contracts 

Location: Remote work opportunity  
This a remote opportunity with 25% Travel Required throughout the USA. 

Base Salary: 135K – 155K  
Additional Compensation: 3% Payout of the first year’s annualized gross contract value, paid out over three consecutive months following contract start-up and installation.

Essential Duties: 
 

  • Utilizing a well-developed understanding of Source America and AbilityOne to identify potentially available contracts throughout the United States. 
  • Creating, building, and maintaining strategic relationships within the Source America sphere to secure contracts and grow Northwest Center’s list of federal contracts nationally.  
  • Researching and registering with federal sites to find potential contracts and choosing appropriate leads to develop and work to secure.  
  • Traveling throughout the United States to different federal sites to establish contact, conduct site walkthroughs, respond to bid requests (RFP), and coordinate time management and scheduling for the desired contract. 
  • Once a contract is secured, communicate and design timetables, begin the introduction, and hand off to the operations team while maintaining the role of the internal strategist and external spokesperson with its customers and partners to grow and develop these contracts. 
  • This position will have the autonomy to structure and scale his or her team of Sales, Operations, and administrative professionals with the support of a seasoned corporate back-office staff. 


Requirements: 
 

  • Bachelor's Degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • 10+ years of sales management experience with increased responsibility and strong negotiating skills 
  • Experience with government contracts with an emphasis on the Source America and AbilityOne programs

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both the board room and the team room 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Military or government experience preferred
