About the Role
NinjaOne is seeking an experienced Director of Strategic Events to lead the strategy, planning, and execution of large-scale, proprietary events that drive business impact and elevate our brand. This role will own marquee programs including our annual user conference, internal sales kickoff, and other high-profile events, ensuring flawless execution from concept to completion. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in large-scale event and conference management, excels at vendor and agency collaboration, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, and consistently delivers complex programs on time and within budget. 
 
Location - We are flexible on hybrid/remote working from home if you are located in the USA and reside in one of the following states: CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, *IL, KS, MA, ME, NC, NJ, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, or WA. Preference/Priority will be given to candidates based in Austin, TX or those willing to relocate unassisted who are able to work in-office 2 days per week. 
 
What You’ll Be Doing 
  • Event Strategy & Leadership 
    • Collaborate with NinjaOne senior leadership on strategy and execution expectations.
    • Develop event objectives aligned with business goals, audience needs, and brand standards.
    • Serve as the primary project manager of these multi-faceted engagements.
  • Program Planning & Execution 
    • Lead all phases of event execution: concept development, budgeting, timelines, logistics, production, content coordination, and on-site management.
    • Create and manage detailed project plans with self-imposed milestones and deadlines to ensure proactive delivery.
    • Oversee run-of-show development and on-site execution to ensure seamless attendee experiences.
  • Vendor & Agency Management 
    • Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with venues, production partners, agencies, and external vendors.
    • Lead RFP processes, contract negotiations, and performance management to ensure quality, cost control, and accountability.
    • Act as the central point of coordination across all external partners.
  • Budget & Operations Management 
    • Own and manage event budgets, ensuring programs are delivered on time and within approved financial parameters.
    • Track spend, forecast costs, and identify opportunities for efficiencies without compromising quality.
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies and risk management standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration 
    • Partner closely with marketing, sales, executive leadership, product, and operations teams to align on goals, messaging, and logistics.
    • Translate stakeholder input into actionable event plans while maintaining clear ownership and accountability.
  • Quality & Attention to Detail 
    • Maintain a high bar for executional excellence, with meticulous attention to detail across all aspects of event delivery.
    • Anticipate risks and proactively solve problems before they impact timelines, budgets, or attendee experience.
    • Coordinate with cross functional team members on all preparation, rehearsals, pre-briefings and documentation.
  • Measurement & Continuous Improvement 
    • Define success metrics for events and lead post-event evaluations and reporting.
    • Capture learnings and implement improvements for future programs.
About You 
  • 10+ years of experience in large-scale event or conference management, with direct ownership of complex, multi-day events.
  • Proven experience leading proprietary events such as user conferences, sales kickoffs, or large internal/external gatherings.
  • Strong background managing vendors, agencies, and production partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets and deliver events on time and within budget.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a track record of executing against self-imposed deadlines.
  • Proficient in project management tools like Asana.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-visibility environments.
  • Experience in B2B, technology, or SaaS environments.
  • Experience managing global or multi-city events.
  • Familiarity with event technology platforms and registration tools.

*Due to operational policies, NinjaOne is unable to hire for this role within the city limits of Chicago. We will consider all qualified candidates who reside outside of the city proper or are willing to self-relocate.    
    
Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to location, market demands, experience, job-related knowledge, and skills. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage and PTO. For roles based in California, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey or Washington the base salary hiring range for this position is $180,000 to $200,000 per year.  
   
For roles based in New York, the base salary hiring range for this position is $180,000 to $200,000 per year.
