Per Diem Technical Production Coordinator (Technical)
The Per Diem Technical Production Coordinator reports to the VP, Original Programming. 
The Technical Production Coordinator coordinates the set and lighting and handles any technical details needed during space rentals in collaboration with the audio, video, and live space teams.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. The coordination of all technical aspects of the performance space for rentals: schedules and runs sets into the space, installation of lights and sets, set-up and strike of lights, microphones, and sets, as well as audience seating
  2. Assists with all techs runs, dress rehearsals, and sound checks for live events, shows, and performances
  3. Coordinates with house and recording sound engineers to set up and ensure sound quality. 
  4. Work closely with the team to develop the technical needs of an event from inception through to postmortem
  5. Run light board, assist video team and audio team with the setup of video and audio equipment for video and audio capture and live video webcasts
  6. Run in-house audio during the run of the show as needed
  7. Implement, communicate, or direct set changes during live events, including breaking /setting up the rooms/spaces in theater or cocktails style. 
  8. Program lighting and lighting effects into the computer. Ability to adjust lights on all angles from higher up to below. 
  9. Prepare sketches and blueprints for staging, lighting, and audio that are effective from an audio, video, and live event point-of-view. 
  10. Ability to provide technical recommendations and troubleshoot during pre-production meetings and on-site during events. 
Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in media, television or digital video production required. 
  • Knowledge of physical production works. Ability to climb into high spaces. 
  • Ideal candidate must work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ideal candidates must have professional and practical communication skills. 

Additional Information
Compensation: $60 per hour
This role is based in New York City and is expected to work onsite at New York Public Radio’s  SoHo headquarters at least 2 days per week.
