QE Proactive Hiring: Automation Factory Engineer (NYC)

Quality AssuranceHybrid Remote, New York, New York

Description

The Automation Factory Engineer is responsible for high‑throughput, customer‑centric automation delivery that directly supports delivery stabilization, regression closure, and trust‑critical coverage gaps.
This role exists to industrialize automation execution—efficiently, repeatably, and at scale—under clear architectural and governance direction.
Automation Factory Engineers do not own quality strategy, standards, or architecture. They execute against them.
What This Role Delivers
  • Rapid build‑out of automated regression and trust‑critical test coverage
  • Automation aligned to real customer workflows, not test case volume
  • Consistent, repeatable automation patterns across delivery teams
  • Reduced manual regression load during stabilization phases
  • Inputs into future‑state QE2.0 intelligence and learning loops
Core Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain automated tests aligned to defined patterns and standards
  • Execute automation backlog prioritized by QE1.0 and delivery leadership
  • Focus automation on:
  • Regression risk
  • Customer‑ and analyst‑visible workflows
  • Trust‑breaking and high‑impact failure scenarios
  • Collaborate closely with ART‑aligned QE leads and development teams
  • Ensure automation is reliable, maintainable, and production‑relevant
  • Contribute execution telemetry (coverage, failure patterns, flakiness) into QE reporting mechanisms
  • Rapidly scale effort up or down based on release and delivery demand
Operating Model
  • Embedded within a Factory execution model, not embedded as lone resources in product teams
  • Work is centrally governed but locally executed
  • Priorities and standards are owned by:
  • QE1.0 leadership (near term)
  • QE2.0 leadership (future state)
  • Day‑to‑day execution is coordinated through ART‑level QE leads
Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands‑on experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD integration
  • Ability to automate at API, service, and workflow (UI) layers as needed
  • Experience working in high‑pressure delivery environments
  • Comfort operating in execution‑heavy, fast‑moving models
  • Strong collaboration skills with developers and QE leads
  • Discipline in following standards, patterns, and governance
