Position Summary:

The Regional Director is responsible for developing and executing a successful sales strategy for rapid revenue growth from the assigned market.  The Regional Director formulates sales strategies for markets within the assigned geography and product lines in order to attain revenue goals set by the company.  The Regional Director manages several Territory Business Managers in their given territory, assists identifying and evaluating market opportunities and sales potential, and provides mentoring and coaching.

This is a management position responsible for providing strategic oversight and leadership to the field regional staff while achieving sales and profitability goals. This position level reports to a Division VP.

Responsibilities and Objectives:

  • Achieves the Region’s revenue and profitability quotas; establishes an environment and foundation for future sales growth; sells and teaches others how to sell value and solutions to customers
  • Provides quality leadership for internal and external customers in all assigned tasks, while upholding company values at all times
  • Directs the selling activities within the Region, inclusive of resource deployment and customer interactions
  • Prioritizes effectively and in accordance with corporate objectives
  • Leads the Sales Territory Representatives and Specialists, inclusive of managing performance, coaching, mentoring, hiring and career development
  • Responsible for forecasting sales activity and revenue achievement
  • Communicate business value through ROI metrics and cost reduction strategies
  • Develop strategies and tactics to develop new opportunities in conjunction with outbound marketing resources
  • Sets the vision for the Region and develops and adheres to a business plan to attain this vision
  • Evaluates market trends and gather competitive information, identify trends that effect current and future growth of regional sales and profitability; disseminate information to regional sales representatives, corporate marketing and sales operations
  • Builds strategic partnerships for further developmental and organizational objectives.
  • Keeps the company informed of market dynamics and competitive activity
  • Develops and maintains superior relationships with contacts and decision-makers; builds long-term relationships by meeting and exceeding customer expectations for future sales
  • Negotiates contracts with external customer
  • Manages and implements company policies and monitors compliance with such policies
  • Drives personnel management activities for the region; selects and hires personnel; conducts selection interviews, hiring, motivating and training staff
  • Conducts performance appraisals, documenting deficiencies, developing plans for improvement and counseling employees
  • Monitors work performance within region to determine staff resources utilization; reviews monthly work statistics and budget reports; establishes work performance standards and adjusts staffing levels as needed
  • Understands internal information technology systems and how the interface with clients.
  • Participates in sales meetings, seminars, industry conferences, and tradeshows and manages event coordination
  • When filling in for a vacant territory, may provide results to an inquiring client in accordance with department SOPs
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures protecting the privacy of patients and the confidentiality of their information in compliance with HIPAA and other applicable laws.  Ensures the privacy and confidentiality of all communications

Position Objectives:

  • Achieves desired level of competency and accuracy for the main department processes
  • Meets or exceeds sales and profitability goals for assigned region
  • Completes individual objectives assigned by Division VP and meets agreed upon deadlines
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of staff
  • Effectively schedules and manages resources to meet department goals
  • Adheres to NeoGenomics Laboratories core values, safety and compliance policies and procedures

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (MBA preferred)

Experience:

Five or more year’s sales management experience in a clinical and/or laboratory market environment preferred

Qualification Requirements:

  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills at all levels of the organization
  • Supervisory or management experience, preferably of a sales staff
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in a prior sales position
  • Strong closing skills. Prior attendance at formal sales training courses a plus
  • Proven oral, written, telephone and presentation skills
  • Solid knowledge of clinical and/or laboratory market environment
  • Ability to learn and retain product specific information and utilize to position the features and benefits to customers
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed on assignments
  • Proficient with MS Office programs
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must be able to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual
  • Holds a valid driver’s license for state of residence

 

Travel Required:

  • Ability to travel as required by role (up to 75% of the time). Some overnight travel may be required

Pay Range (will vary based on location & experience) $147,000 - $184,000

In all instances, the salary paid will satisfy minimum salary laws.
