Position Summary:

The Senior Tax Accountant will play a key role in the company’s tax accounting, compliance, and planning responsibilities, including income and non-income tax obligations in U.S. and foreign jurisdictions. The Senior Tax Accountant will report to the Director of Tax and work closely with the broader finance team as well as outside advisors for tax accounting and compliance matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate financial data collection and information flow from various departments to outside advisors for the preparation of income tax returns and ASC 740 calculations.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual/quarterly financial disclosures related to tax matters.
  • Review results from external advisors for accuracy, completeness, and technical analysis of tax positions.
  • Prepare all tax account reconciliations.
  • Prepare or review non-income tax compliance obligations including property tax returns, use tax returns, and other miscellaneous tax filings.
  • Partner with Director of Tax in development, documentation, and implementation of tax department processes, work papers, internal controls, and standard methodologies for driving efficiency, scale, and automation.
  • Assist with internal and external financial statement auditor requests for tax documentation and support.
  • Assist with tax assessments, audits, and correspondence.
  • Research tax laws and regulations for impacts on the company.
  • Support strategic tax planning initiatives, tax analysis of acquisitions, and other department projects.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. Advanced degree and/or CPA designation preferred.

3+ years in a corporate tax role and/or public accounting firm with increasing responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Skilled in Excel and building new work papers/models
  • Proficient understanding of public financial statements. Experience with ASC 740 preferred.
  • Holds the highest standards of accuracy, precision, and attention to detail; highly organized
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly-driven and self-motivated
  • Ability to think creatively and interpret data with strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity
