NeoGenomics is looking for a Specimen Transport Operations Manager based out of our lab in Ramsey, NJ who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow.
Shift Time: Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the NA Logistics Senior Manager, the Specimen Transport Manager has the overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of all operational activities and personnel for the Logistics business function to ensure specimens arrive as requested by the customer.
This is a management position responsible for the operations of several areas in logistics and driving Neo’s Leadership Attributes: Inspire, Engage, Develop and come up with Solutions.
Core Responsibilities:
• Directs and coordinates logistics related activities, internal personnel, and contracted vendors to ensure the delivery of specimens as requested by clients while maintaining compliance with company policies and standards
• Conducts daily route planning based on customer needs ensuring service, cost, and productivity targets are met
• Provides regular updates to the Logistics Senior Manager and Finance regarding resources and routing solution effectiveness
• Collaborates with Sales, Client Services, and contracted vendors to coordinate new client setups, courier route planning, and to ensure cost effective solutions are implemented for the clients and the Company
• Interacts with personnel in Sales, Marketing, and Client Services, to address and resolve delivery service issues and to improve the safe and timely delivery of specimens
• Trains and supervises couriers in the proper maintenance and care of vehicles and specimen handling
• Ensures that pre-trip inspections, preventive maintenance care and safe equipment operating procedures are followed. Coordinates all vehicle maintenance with vendors to ensure vehicles function at optimal reliability and cost levels. Reports all accidents or near misses.
• Analyzes and reviews logs, productivity reports and expense reports to ensure compliance with company standards and procedures
• Ensures that employees are trained and compliant with SOPs and competency checklists
• Ensures records are kept up-to-date and maintained in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
• Oversees, plans, and prepares for inspections
• Sets department objectives and performance goals; monitors personnel and resource utilization on an ongoing basis and makes adjustments in staffing to facilitate achievement of the goals and objectives
• Supervises and participates in personnel management activities for the department; selects and hires personnel; conducts selection interviews, hiring, motivating and training employees
• Conducts performance appraisals, documenting deficiencies, developing plans for improvement and counseling employees
• Helps set department objectives and performance goals; monitors work performance to determine staff resources utilization; reviews monthly work statistics and budget reports; establishes work performance standards and adjusts staffing levels as needed
• Ensures that a safe working environment is maintained and that safe work practices are employed
• Maintains knowledge of CAPA/CLIA requirements related to specimen delivery and facilities maintenance
• Adheres to departmental and company code of grooming and uniform policies, appearing neat and clean at all times
• Accountable for the operation of a 24-hour function, including responding to emergencies, and attendance at meetings outside of working hours as needed
Additional Responsibilities (may be assigned):
• May assist with the planning and administration of budgets and strategic plans for assigned business functions
• May participate in developing and recommending method improvements impacting the areas of safety, work implementation, planning, and scheduling
• May travel with couriers to observe safety and quality of fieldwork
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of Logistics or the VP of SC / Logistics
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in the logistics field and 2+ years of recent supervisory experience in the healthcare transportation industry preferred. Client services background preferred; prior experience in a clinical laboratory preferred
• Direct logistics experience and customer service skills
• Working knowledge of and experience with facility, mechanical, and/or electrical administrative maintenance
• Knowledge of laboratories facilities maintenance policies and procedures
• Valid FL/CA state driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to move and lift 50 pounds and maneuver packages of any weight above 50 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
• Ability to bend/twist at the waist and knees on a consistent basis
• Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements; evenings, weekends, holidays, and on call
• Demonstrated success in leading team members to reach goals and objectives
• Demonstrated success in meeting high performance standards with regard to work quality and quantity
• Ability to make sound decisions under stressful situations
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all employees and clients

Pay Range (will vary based on location & experience) $90,000 to $120,000
