NeoGenomics is looking for a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (Molecular) who wants to learn to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This is an onsite position in Durham, NC with a Tuesday – Saturday, 12:00pm – 8:30pm shift.

Position Summary:
As a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the Molecular department you will work under general supervision and is responsible for complex laboratory procedures and handling all types of specimens submitted to the department for processing tasks assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Consistently and independently performs the more complex level of clinical tests by following department procedures
- Assumes initiative for prompt, accurate performance of test results with appropriate documentation of result
- Performs newly introduced tests to the laboratory that require defined skills
- Proficient in all applicable areas of testing in the department. Proficient in troubleshooting all applicable instruments/procedures in the department
- Participates in continuing education; present periodic in-service programs
- Must be familiar with CAP/CLIA requirements and knowledgeable with the specialty requirements within those organizations
Education, Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college or university preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences with the addition of at least 1 year of laboratory experience/training/training course
- At least four (4) years of equivalent experience (high complexity Molecular testing) preferred
- Eligibility for or currently active ASCP MB certification required
- Solid understanding of general laboratory techniques with emphasis on department specific techniques
- Possesses appropriate computer skills to accomplish tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Must be able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment and maintain production and quality standards
- Must be able to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual
- Good visual acuity including color perception required for certain departments
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Pay Range (will vary based on location & experience) $32.00 - 49.00 Per Hour, Plus Anual Bonus
