NeoGenomics is looking for a Billing Reimbursement Auditor I for our Fort Myers, FL location who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This position is for a Monday - Friday day shift.

Position Summary:

The Billing Reimbursement Auditor I is responsible for conducting reviews of Telcor billing processes on the front and back end to ensure coding and billing accuracy to improve or drive potential reimbursement. The Billing Auditor will work collaboratively with the billing team to review and improve revenue cycle integrity while seeking and identifying trends and opportunities for coding, billing and reimbursement optimization. Regular auditing of coding reviews of CPT, ICD-10, and modifier utilization and Billing reviews of denials, payer coverage policies, internal billing processes is performed to drive improved reimbursement. 

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews charge information submitted by certified coders, claim forms, and insurance correspondence to determine if coding, billing, claim follow-up, payment receipts, posting activities, and credit processing is being performed in an accurate and timely manner and is supported by documentation.
  • Prepares written reports of the audit findings to strategic reimbursement and billing leadership.
  • Assists with analyzing audit and compliance data and suggests appropriate coding or other solutions as required
  • Assists with research for all billing related claim denials to drive reimbursement initiatives.
  • Compares clinical information from medical records to payer policies to identify denial trends and propose solutions
  • Monitor billing system flow and identify system errors including Telcor, Waystar etc.
  • Keep abreast of coding and billing guidelines by self-study, assigned education, coding meeting attendance and related webinars.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma at minimum required
  • AAPC or AHIMA Certification required within 6 months of hire
  • 3+ years related experience in billing, insurance and third-party receivables or healthcare industry, and/or database experience Coding experience, preferable in Clinical Laboratory or Pathology setting

Qualifications:

  • Must be comfortable presenting data to Management
  • Knowledge of reimbursement processes, billing, accounts receivables
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 diagnosis coding and official coding guidelines
  • Knowledge of CPT coding, NCCI and modifier usage
  • Knowledge of CMS LCD/NCD and payer medical policies
  • Solid computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products, particularly in Excel and experience working in Telcor and Waystar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Able to write reports, correspondence and other documentation materials
  • Able to think analytically, conceptually and systemically
  • Able to collect and research data, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate decisions

Pay Range (will vary based on location & experience) $16.80 - $29.66 Per Hour Plus Bonus
