Position Summary:       
The Sr., Market Access and Reimbursement, will drive corporate strategies with
commercial payers in support of the company’s goals and objectives. The Sr, Market
Access and Reimbursement, will also be responsible for analyzing and improving organizational
competitiveness and contracts within the Managed Care market, evaluating sales and costs to
ensure maximum economics of scale, and establishing strong and sustainable relationships with
Divisional, Regional, Assigned States, and the National Director, Market Access and
Reimbursement, on National Managed Care Clients. 
       
       
Core Responsibilities
• Works cross-functionally with reimbursement and finance teams to support the company’s
goals in obtaining positive coverage decisions, including targeting and development of key
physician influencers and consumer/employer influencers, economic modeling, and clinical
trial information
• Negotiates, either directly or indirectly, and manages the managed care contracting function,
for all Managed Care contracts in order to ensure financial integrity and reasonableness for
implementation
• Develops and builds relationships with major contracted providers and payers, including
serving as liaison between them and the Company
• Responsible as the primary NeoGenomics point of contact for current or future managed care
plans within the individual’s area of coverage or as assigned by the National Director,
Market Access and Reimbursement
• Meets with participating managed care plans and NeoGenomics clients as required to
maintain good working relationships
• Identifying potential for revenue and cost improvements in contractual relationships,
recommending and implementing changes through contract amendments and renewal
negotiations
• Assists in development of strategy to attract clients and patients from participating managed
care programs; facilitates promotion of products to provider networks in conjunction with
NeoGenomics Sales team and Marketing
• Effectively works cross-functionally to develop alignment around strategies for securing new
agreements with prioritized managed care groups
• Directs analysis of competitive products and marketing techniques, payor strategies,
consumer research, legislation, and managed care pricing; recommends policies for the
introduction of new products/services and plans for increased market penetration based on
market research and field level intelligence
• As required, supports, evaluates, recommends, and implements changes in the Company’s
fee schedule for managed care plans
• Works directly with Billing to identify payors in their territory with low reimbursement, or

bad debt issues, identifying the cause, and strategizing a path to success and a timeline to
execute with National Director, Market Access and Reimbursement
• Shares evolving geographic, managed care, and healthcare reform-related trends with the
National Director, Market Access and Reimbursement
• Reviews, in collaboration with Finance team, pricing proposals to ensure they are compliant
with all applicable policies and company expectations
• Accountable for strategic evaluation of complex contract issues that require interpretation on
a wide variety of issues related to business objectives, varying laws/regulations, specific
contract language, etc.
• Participates in audits of managed care customer contracts to ensure compliance with
contract terms
• Maintains current knowledge of public and applicable third-party reimbursement rules and
regulations
• Maintains current contract information in sales force or any future tracking programs in
regards to contact information and notes regarding health plan interaction
• Manage contracts and amendments through the entire review and execution process
• Participates in sales meetings, seminars, industry conferences, and tradeshows, and manages
event coordination
       
       
Education:       
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or business-related field required (MBA preferred)       
       
Qualification Requirements:       
  • Seven (7+) or more years of diagnostic laboratory or anatomic pathology managed care (including IPAs) contracting and medical policy experience
  • Proven ability to work well with and influence peers, sales teams and management
  • Existing relationships with key decision makers and influencers
  • Knowledge of capitation reimbursement methodology, various market capitation rates and tactics for securing fee for service reimbursement in traditionally capitated environments, and physician sales success
  • Proven oral, written, telephone and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of clinical and/or laboratory market environment and products
  • Ability to learn and retain product specific information and utilize to position the features and benefits to customers
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed on assignments
  • Proficient with MS Office programs
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must be able to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual
Travel Required:       
Ability to travel as required by role (up to 50% of the time). Some overnight travel may be required.
