Position Summary:

Key business development role working closely across Neo’s business units and departments, primarily accountable for helping to drive the overall company mid-and-long-term business strategy.  The role is responsible for helping identify, evaluate/assess and develop new business opportunities to drive revenue growth and expand the Neo brand.  Role will partner closely with the EVP and the Business Development team in exploring new business ventures and initiatives within the life sciences/diagnostics space or adjacent areas.  Focus will be on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, licensing arrangements and opportunities (or adjacent businesses) that advance Neo’s market positioning and avenues for sustainable growth.  The individual will conduct a variety of market and business due diligence activities and prepare needed reporting and analysis for management.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Drive, lead, and organize comprehensive deal due diligence efforts; perform due diligence and post-closing acquisition (or missed targets) post-mortems
  • Partner with Finance in developing a replicable and robust financial model for forecasting, valuation and scenario analysis approach to evaluating different type of deal structures and arrangements
  • Help drive the planning, analyzing, validating and managing of requirements, business processes, high-level solution design, test case design, and implementation planning & support
  • Build and cultivate market relationships; analyze industry prospects by gathering information about growth, competitors, and market share possibilities. Conduct financial analyses and build relationships with sellers and intermediaries.
  • Coordinate with company executives and sales & marketing professionals to review current market trends in order to propose new business ideas
  • Assist in the development and presentation of executive summaries for potential target opportunities and monthly/quarterly external market business opportunities 
  • Fosters and works to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions
  • Perform research, cost studies and benchmarking to support financial and operational assumptions
  • Work cross-functionally with other business units through diligence actions; may lead cross-functional projects; share expertise as a subject matter expert
  • May help conduct research on market insights, business opportunities, industry trends, competing organizations, customer demographics and new technologies
  • Other broader business activities and business requests may be assigned as needed

 

Experience and Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • MBA or other business qualification strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive experience, preferably in public companies
  • Strong background in diagnostics/laboratory/life sciences is required
  • Experience in Oncology is preferred
  • Experience and ability to model and synthesize complex financial analysis, operational, and KPI data into concise presentations and decision framework
  • Experience in driving mergers and acquisitions review and execution, analyzing business proposals, leading due diligence process and structuring transactions; experience in small to mid-cap deals highly preferred
  • Sharp mind with strong analytical and numeric skills to enable problem-solving, proficient in financial modeling and analysis
  • Easily pivot between evaluating the company as a whole versus as pieces for analogous complements
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Desire and ability to work independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interact, collaborate and communicate with cross-functional leadership teams and the Investment community
  • Meticulous attention to detail while multi-tasking across a variety of projects
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel  
  • Exhibits high levels of discretion and confidentiality

Pay Range (will vary based on location & experience) $118,400 - $204,240

In all instances, the salary paid will satisfy minimum salary laws.
