NeoGenomics has an opening for an Senior Scientist, Molecular who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This is a long term, temporary position to work a Monday - Friday, day shift onsite at our Aliso Viejo, CA site.

Position Summary:
 
The Senior Scientist, Molecular will lead and/or contribute to the successful completion of key R&D projects and is expected to take ownership and responsibility for project delivery including initiation, planning, execution, and closure. The Senior Scientist will therefore be an experienced R&D scientist with a proven track record of successful technology development and proficiency in the role’s core responsibilities.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Independently designs and executes R&D project experiments.
  • Provides technical leadership, mentors, and directs scientists performing project work.
  • Engages with global R&D team, Quality, Technology Transfer and Operations to drive successful project completion.
  • Communicate and present project work through written reports and/or oral presentation.
  • Document R&D project activities e.g., feasibility, verification, and validation plans & reports (under Design Control, where appropriate).
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in the field through literature review and attendance at science & technology meetings.
  • Drives aspects of the project management process including initiation, planning, execution, and closure; some projects will have oversight from PMO.
  • Continually connect with core project team members to maintain alignment on project goals and scope.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining realistic project timelines.
  • Responsible for tracking and managing project progress.
 
Experience & Required Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in a life, physical or computer science
  • MS./BS in a life, physical or computer science with appropriate level of relevant experience
  • Four (4) or more years related successful laboratory experience in Molecular Assay Development in Cancer diagnostics required. 
  • Previous experience with hematologic specimens strongly preferred. 
  • Detail oriented with ability to capture and record complex scientific data accurately and reliably.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment whilst maintaining quality of R&D project work.
  • Ability to problem solve independently and escalate problems appropriately in a timely manner.

Pay Range (will vary based on location & experience) $114,959.20 to $198,304.62 Plus Bonus

In all instances, the salary paid will satisfy minimum salary laws.
