Position Summary:
As the Product Manager, Generative AI you will define, deliver, and continuously improves internal generative AI development and AI-driven diagnostic productivity tools, serving as the primary bridge between NeoGenomics’ medical experts (pathologists) and technical engineering teams. In this position you will transforms daily pathologist workflows from analog to digital by deploying AI-assisted capabilities that reduce turnaround time (TAT), automate quality control, enhance diagnostic precision and standardization, and lead products within the “Improving” and “Wrapping” phases of the data strategy to drive operational efficiency and user adoption.
Responsibilities:
- Defines, designs, and implements systems that support Digital Pathology and Medical Services infrastructure, partnering with the Office of Digital Pathology and Office of Innovation (OOI) across operations and new product development, including diagnostic and data products
- Defines and owns the product vision for the internal Digital Pathology Generative AI ecosystem, with a focus on Medical Service Platforms, the Image Management System (IMS), and integrated AI workflow tools
- Conducts deep user research with internal pathologists to identify manually intensive friction points and uncover high-value automation opportunities such as report draft assistance, case prioritization, and automated quality control
- Translates clinical needs into feature-based and technical user stories and prioritizes the engineering backlog based on measurable business value, complexity, and level of effort
- Oversees the deployment of AI-driven operational improvements, including automated case triage and case routing, ensuring seamless integration into the clinical sign-out process
- Partners with Medical Directors, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory teams to define validation protocols for new software features, ensuring compliance with CLIA, CAP, and GxP standards prior to clinical release
- Defines and tracks KPIs for product success, including adoption rates, time-per-case savings, and diagnostic concordance
Education, Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science or Business or equivalent work experience required; Master’s degree preferred
- 5 or more years of Product Management experience in healthcare technology, life sciences, or regulated clinical software required
- Has direct experience with Digital Pathology (IMS/WSI), Radiology (PACS/RIS), or Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS)
- Demonstrates a proven track record of launching internal workflow tools that replace manual or analog processes in high-throughput operational environments
- Manages AI/ML products, specifically defining human-in-the-loop workflows where AI supports expert decision-making
- Works within agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and uses tools like Jira and Confluence
- Exhibits clinical empathy by understanding the high-pressure environment of pathologists and designing tools that reduce cognitive load
- Maintains regulatory fluency with CLIA, CAP, and HIPAA requirements as they apply to software validation and clinical decision support
- Uses workflow data to define product KPIs and drive roadmap decisions

Pay Range (will vary based on location & experience) $74,000.00 to $127,000.00 Annually, Plus Bonus
