Position Summary:
The Site Manager of Operation has the overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of all technical and/or operational activities and personnel in the laboratory. The Manager is responsible for performing duties to meet quality assurance, safety and accreditation requirements in the laboratory and oversees a variety of projects that can be assigned by the Site Director or Department Director. 


Position Objectives: 

Under the direction of and in the absence of the V.P. of Operations the Operations Managers ensures adequate performance of all laboratory operations and procedures, site EHS needs and supports the compliance and regulatory practices of the site. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Presents data and/or information across all levels including the lab, department, division, and corporate, and proficiently answers questions from all groups of staff, managers, and clients
  • Recommends and endorses test methods to include validation, documentation and implementation of test systems
  • Initiates and monitors quality assurance programs for the laboratory; assures compliance with regulations
  • Reports any problem cases and/or abnormal findings to the Medical Laboratory Director to ensure timely resolution and/or follow up
  • Ensures the quality of service provided by the department meets the requirements of both internal and external clients; ensures all internal and external requests are resolved or addressed

 

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences with 6+ years of clinical lab experience, including 2+ years at the doctoral level
  • Master’s degree in the same fields with 4+ years of relevant lab experience, including 2+ years at the doctoral level
  • Previous Flow Cytometry Experience Strongly Preferred
  • 4+ years of direct supervision within a laboratory facility.
