NBBJ London is seeking an experienced Medical Planner to work on a range of healthcare projects in design and construction. Responsibilities will include working with the clients team, architectural design team, engineering consultants and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes. The role requires an interest and experience of working on a range of healthcare projects including large or complex buildings. Projects we are looking to fill positions include early design stages for a hospital in Wycombe that includes Theatres, Cardiac Emergency and Inpatients, delivering a flagship Cancer Research Hospital in Cambridge, developing and delivering NHP projects or supporting feasibility studies for new work.
In your new role, you will:
- Design and plan hospitals and clinics
- Work with clients to identify objectives and formulate options
- Effectively participate in Clinical User Group meetings and client presentations
- Have proven ability to collaborate with Architects, Interior Designers, and Project
- Managers from Concept Design through to Construction
What you will need to succeed:
- 5-10 years Medical Planning experience – complex healthcare projects of any scale
- Demonstrated excellence in design and innovation
- Experience in leading medical planning aspects of healthcare projects from briefing/concept design through construction
- Experience working in a collaborative environment with design teams, consultants, clients
- Skilled in leadership and management of user group engagements and development of deliverables
- Familiarity with issues surrounding innovative healthcare strategic planning, briefing and medical planning
- Knowledge of relevant NHS design guidance including Health Building Notes and Health Technical Memoranda
- Familiarity with current industry practices, trends, and innovation
- Experience using Autodesk Revit Architecture day-to-day is required
- Willingness to travel to project meetings in the UK
- BREEAM / LEED Accreditation, encouraged
- Familiarity with LEAN concepts encouraged
- Input into the development of Room Data Sheets and the 1:50 equipment planning/C-Sheet process
- Excellent presentation, written, verbal and graphic communication skills
