Nashville General Hospital is hiring for a Patient Transport Driver in Nashville, Tennessee.

This position is responsible for the safe transportation of patients to/from Nashville General Hospital and other treatment facilities as directed. The driver must be experienced and have a safe driving history with no accidents in the last 3 years. When necessary, the driver may be required to assist patients with entrance/exit from the transport vehicle. The driver must be comfortable using electronic navigation applications on mobile phone, iPad, or similar device. The driver will practice safe and defensive driving at all times. Driver will complete a daily log of pick-ups and deliveries and will obtain patient/care-giver signatures as required.

Patient Transport Driver Roles & Responsibilities:

  • In constant contact with patients and their family/caregivers who, by nature of the service they require, may experience difficult days. The driver will display a courteous and respectful attitude at all times. The driver will be self-aware and practice service recovery and will report any customer service issues immediately to supervisor,
  • The route for patient pick-up/drop-off will be determined by the routing software, and driver will adhere to the designated route.
  • Adhere to HIPPA rules concerning patient privacy and will not discuss or name any patient other than in the course of required duties. Driver must sign an annual Confidentiality Agreement.
  • A minimum driving experience of 5 years with no accidents or tickets in the last 3 years.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A valid Tennessee driver’s license with safe driving history is required. Liability auto insurance as required by State of Tennessee Department of Safety for all licensed drivers. After hire, driver must be able to be bonded and insured by NGH.
    Completion of a Defensive Driving course as provided by Metro Government is required.
