Nashville General Hospital is hiring an Interventional Radiological Tech for our Imaging team for full-time Day!
The IR Tech is responsible for operating the physio monitoring system and complex imaging equipment, also serves in the role of scrub tech assisting the cardiologist or radiologist during cardiovascular/interventional procedures. This is a Monday-Friday position working 5 8-hour shifts.
As an Interventional Radiological Tech, you will:
- Assist physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients
- Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol
- Observe patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity
- Ensures patient 's chart is on hand and consent signed for ultrasound studies requiring consent
- Routinely checks patient ID prior to procedure
- Provides adequate exam explanations to patient and/or significant other
- Responsible for maintaining supplies, equipment, and clean work area.
- Responsible for inventory of supplies and notifying Manager of supplies and equipment needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible. (Registry eligible must become certified within twelve (12) months of employment.)
- Current BLS certification is required at the time of hire
