SUMMARY
Provides effective leadership and coordination of collaborative quality initiatives for applicable hospitals.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required, Master’s degree preferred. Certification preferred.
Prefer 3-5 years of experience in quality improvement experience in a healthcare environment.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work well with management and other professionals in a direct and positive manner.
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills to track outcomes.
Self-directed; able to work effectively and efficiently with multiple interruptions and changing work priorities. Strong organizational and time management skills required. Able to make reliable independent decisions using analytical problem solving skills. Demonstrates initiative and creativity in assigned work. Highly detail and team oriented.
Ability to proficiently create and utilize databases, word-processing, spreadsheets, presentation programs and other software relevant to the job. Requires technical knowledge of hospital applications data-query software spreadsheets and report-generating software. Internet skills and literature search capabilities
ORGANIZATION
Reports to the Director of Quality and Patient Safety of Munson Healthcare Community Hospitals.
Works collaboratively and effectively and serves as a liaison between all members of the leadership and management teams, providers, and members of the patient care team.
Occasional clinical contact with all patient populations-does not require medical record documentation
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Munson Healthcare.

Promotes personal and patient safety.
Uses effective customer service/interpersonal skills at all times. Implements and manages data collection, evaluation, and presentation of quality indicators. Provides graphics for nursing departments and others as requested.
In conjunction with the Director of Quality and Patient Safety, Physician Champion, and COO/CNO, analyzes reports, draw conclusions and assist with benchmark identification.
Performs quality improvement training and education to individuals, units, councils or groups.
Develops Department Quality Champions (when applicable) on each unit and in collaboration with the appropriate departments and personnel develops, maintains, and updates an orientation/resource packet.
Independently manages case load and reports data to the assigned collaborative(s) according to established standards and deadlines.
Actively engage in quality initiative activities and identify opportunities to improve the quality of care by working with physicians, nurses, other clinicians, and administrator to develop strategies to improve performance.
Required to attend consortium-wide meetings and sub-group meetings as a representative of the assigned community hospitals.
Represents and serves as primary resource for the consortium work, maintaining regular contact with the physician champion and members of the team.
Attends daily check-ins, quality initiative meetings, and department meetings as needed.
Attends/presents to Quality and Patient Safety meetings and medical staff meetings as requested.
Responds to incident reports related to collaborative quality initiatives.
Assures confidentiality and integrity of all nursing department performance improvement and patients case review activities
Collaborates with nursing leadership to identify recommendations for high quality, cost- effective care and practice improvements, based on areas identified in hospital-specific data related to the collaborative quality initiatives.
Coordinates and serves as the contact person for the assigned collaborative quality initiatives.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
