Salary Range:Unlicensed $28.85-$30.68/hour  Bilingual Spanish Range $31.45-$33.44/hour 

Licensed $33.34-$35.72/hour Bilingual Spanish Range $36.34-$38.93/hour 

Schedule: Monday -Friday 8:30am-4:30pm

Seeking   Mental Health Therapist    with    at-risk   youth   experience  to provide services to clients and families at Morrison’s day treatment program.  

Morrison Child and Family Services is a non-profit organization providing a continuum of trauma-informed, culturally responsive programs and services for youth and families in residential, shelter, respite, foster care, community & school-based outpatient, family preservation, and prevention servicesAs one of the largest mental health and substance use recovery agencies serving 7,000 youth in Portland, Oregon, and the state of Washington, our goal is to promote a vibrant culture of self-care, creativity, and overall resilience that contribute to the success of our youth and families.    

Program: Counterpoint Day Treatment 
The program was created to provide therapeutic services for adolescents  who have experienced trauma and abuse and who have had engaged in sexually inappropriate behaviors. Our program is designed to help prevent and eliminate future issues of sexual behavioral problems, and reduce adverse effects from trauma and abuse, and to empower youth by guiding and helping them acquire pro-social skills to increase successful transitions to the community. 

Job Summary 

The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for maintaining a a caseload of youth who have sexually offending behaviors.  This includes, individual, group and family therapy per program policies and guidelines while utilizing best practices.

Job Duties Full Job Description available or interview stage or earlier by request:  

  • Provides mental health and SO, including assessment, treatment planning, and individual, group and family therapy. Maintains the clinical record for each client and ensures documentation meets all compliance standards 
  • Serves as liaison to psychiatric service providers.  
  • Provides backup for medical management: provides medication services to clients following agency and program protocol, including new and refill medication orders, managing pharmacy relationships, training and monitoring all staff in medication distribution and tracking, keep medication paperwork up to date, keep up on current insurance regulations and monitor accuracy of medication distribution and tracking by other staff. 
  • Monitor clients and families who may have emotional and/or behavioral challenges; addressing, redirecting and/or problem solving with upset, angry, delayed, severely traumatized, emotionally and/or behaviorally challenged clients and families. 


Experience/Education Requirements  

  • Master’s degree in social services or related field required 
  • Two years of experience working with at-risk youth 
  • Holds Certified Offense Therapist Intern (SOTB) certification or higher OR be eligible to begin registration for this certification upon hire.  
  • Intermediate computer skills using word processing, databases, electronic medical records and email. Knowledge of child and adolescent development, family systems, substance abuse and dependence, delinquency and related interventions.  
  • Individual, group and family therapy skills required. 


Preferred Qualifications not required 

  • Fluent in the Spanish language, written, read and spoken  
  • CADC certification is helpful 


Other Requirements: 

  • Pass a DHS criminal history background 
  • May be required to work irregular hours outside of the normal program business hours including weekends.  
  • Travel and perform duties at different agency locations with possible meetings/presentations at other Morrison designated worksites and in the community. 


Physical Requirements:  

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time. 
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment. 
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with clients and staff. Must be able to exchange accurate information. 
  • Frequently moves around work site and may move equipment up to 15 pounds.
