About This Role
The Preconstruction Coordinator will oversee and manage all preconstruction site activities that start from key handover once a property is acquired, through demolition and then handoff to the construction team to begin new construction.
On a Given Day, Your Work Might Include
- Plans, coordinates, organizes, oversees, and directs preconstruction activities of assigned structures. This includes successful execution of:
- Initial site visit checklist.
- Scheduling and tracking locate requests.
- Site verifications of power gas disconnects.
- Managing demolition contractors including all related onsite tasks.
- Safety posting delivery and installation.
- Jurisdictional inspection scheduling and follow through.
- Subcontractor and labor scheduling for demolition activities.
- Managing demolition process in municipalities with two stage permits and pre-demolition process in single permit municipalities.
- Managing asbestos testing and abatement.
- Coordinating with PSE for temp pole installation and application process.
- Coordinating with other utility providers to disconnect all other utilities.
- Managing rodent abatement.
- Creating utility plans with temp pole locations to be approved by PM.
- Ensuring adherence to tree protection zoning requirements.
- Managing contaminated soil removal process, as needed.
- Submitting for, and tracking, all permits for installation of permanent power and gas to future homes.
- Communicates professionally and in a timely manner with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensures adherence to MN standard work processes. Identifies and implements process improvement opportunities.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, methods, and code requirements.
- Ability to walk a job site and accurately assess safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting engineering, architectural, and construction drawings.
- Understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and residential building codes is preferred.
- Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong willingness to assist and collaborate with team members.
- Ability to effectively prioritize work & tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and make quick, rational decisions under pressure.
- Ability to effectively multitask and juggle multiple, simultaneous demands.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to self-direct and work independently.
- Familiarity with MN processes and standards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience with Salesforce a plus.
- Proficient with construction scheduling software. Experience with Taskray is a plus.
- Experience with Bluebeam or related PDF editing software is a plus.
- Ability to adopt MN processes and standards.
- Some fluency with Spanish (read/write/speak) is a plus.
- Ability to models and reinforces actions and behaviors consistent with the Company's values, mission, and culture.
What You Bring to MN Custom Homes
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
- 3+ years experience managing preconstruction activities for residential construction projects required.
- Previous experience leading and managing teams is strongly preferred
- Experience in single-family construction required.
- Experience using scheduling software is a plus.
- General knowledge of neighborhoods in the jurisdiction/area the role will support.
Working Environment & Physical Requirements
- This position requires frequent use of a computer, including keyboard functions, hand and finger movement, and visual acuity of 20 inches or fewer on a daily basis
- Frequent visits to jobsites (up to 75% of the time) which includes traversing and inspecting jobsites in all types of weather. This may require navigating uneven and unfinished surfaces and terrain, and ascending or descending inclines and stairs
- Frequent sitting up to 25% of the time up
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds on occasion with or without accommodation
- Must be able to work in office Monday – Friday, within core business hours of 8AM-5PM
Travel & Vehicle Requirements
- Regular travel between job sites and/or the office is required, using personal vehicle.
- Must maintain and provide proof of a valid WA State Driver’s License, acceptable driving record & proof of vehicle insurance. MN should be listed as an additional insured party on the vehicle insurance.

Hours & Compensation
This is a full-time position paying $26.73/hr – $49.62/hr. The hourly range represents the anticipated low and high end of the hourly range for this position. Individual placement within a hourly range will vary based upon factors including but not limited to candidate experience, knowledge, individual, skills, and organizational performance.
