About This Role
This is a limited-term position based in Bellevue, WA
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer I (Limited Term Role) to assist the sourcing, negotiation, contracting of subcontractors, and purchasing of goods and services. The ideal candidate will ensure timely contracting and scheduling, cost-effectiveness, and quality compliance while maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting organizational goals
On a Given Day, Your Work Might Include
- Sources and evaluates subcontractors, equipment, and/or materials for non-strategic trades and in-direct spend.
- Issues contracts, reviews invoices, verifies pricing against PO’s and backup documentation, and processes change requests.
- Reviews contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to optimize cost savings.
- Issues purchase orders (PO’s), and tracks services/deliveries to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Maintains accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
- Tracks supplier compliance with Master Service Agreement and quality clauses.
- Resolves issues related to subcontractor and delivery delays, defective goods, or invoice discrepancies.
- Stay informed about market trends, supply chain risks, and new sourcing opportunities.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of procurement, supply chain, and/or logistics.
- Strong organizational and time management skills. Must be able to effectively multitask and juggle simultaneous demands while remaining flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with little direction or oversight.
- Excellent interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with Expert-level Excel skills.
- Ability to make reasonable, rational, quick decisions while under pressure and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
- Ability to adopt MN processes and standards.
What You Bring to MN Custom Homes
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- 1 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of contract law and vendor management best practices.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Working Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to work within office environment with varying office temperatures.
- Must be able to communicate with vendors, both audibly and in writing. Must be able to use/operate a smartphone and video conferencing.
- This position requires frequent use of a computer, including keyboard functions and visual acuity of 20 inches or fewer on a daily basis.
- Must be able to lift up to 20lbs occasionally with or without accommodation.
- Must be able to work in office Monday – Friday, within core business hours of 8AM-5PM.
Travel & Vehicle Requirements
- Infrequent travel to job sites and/or off-site locations for training, conference, etc.

Hours & Compensation
This is a limited-term, full-time position paying $29.18/hr. – $40.85/hr. The hourly range represents the anticipated low and high end of the hourly range for this position. Individual placement within a salary range will vary based upon factors including but not limited to candidate experience, knowledge, individual, skills, and organizational performance.
