Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and sub-systems for high-performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications. With design, sales and manufacturing locations in over 30 countries, Mini-Circuits’ products are used in a range of wired and wireless communications applications. Position Summary:
This position exists to drive the mechanical design of RF and microwave components, including both surface‑mount and chip‑and‑wire technologies, ensuring high‑performance, manufacturable solutions. The engineer contributes directly to PCB and module architecture while applying advanced or CAD, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks expertise to complex design challenges. By performing rigorous tolerance analysis, selecting suitable materials, and integrating thermal and environmental considerations, this role ensures mechanical integrity across all product platforms. The position also develops comprehensive engineering documentation and supports cross‑functional collaboration and design reviews. Success in this role requires strong communication, technical leadership, and a commitment to innovation and continuous process improvement.
Salary Range: $125,000 - $133,000 per year
Job Functions:
- Responsible for the mechanical design and implementation of RF and microwave components for both surface‑mount assemblies and chip‑and‑wire configurations.
- Provide mechanical design inputs for PCB and ceramic substrates during design phase.
- Utilizes AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ORCAD.
- Applies innovative mechanical design skills to complex engineering requirements.
- Writes technical flowcharts, reports, and mechanical design documentation.
- Performs tolerance analysis for precision mechanical assemblies.
- Selects and applies appropriate metals, plastics, and elastomers.
- Designs products considering thermal and environmental requirements.
- Works effectively through department and peer review processes.
- Selects methods and techniques to deliver effective mechanical solutions.
- Collaborate with senior internal and external personnel in area of expertise.
- Determines procedures and methods for new mechanical design assignments.
- Identifies mechanical issues proactively and implements effective solutions.
- Continuously seek improvements in design and process workflows.
- Works professionally and respectfully with diverse cross‑functional teams.
- Function effectively as a team player in a technical engineering environment.

Qualifications:
- MSME with minimum of 6 years’ related experience
- BSEE with minimum of 10 years’ related experience
- Possesses broad expertise in CAD‑based mechanical design.
- Understands manufacturing processes used in electronics industries.
- Advanced capability in OrCAD‑based PCB layout, including stack‑up design, differential pair tuning, impedance control, grounding strategies, and layout practices for high‑frequency and mixed‑signal systems.
- Ability to work independently on complex tasks with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Highly self‑motivated and detail‑oriented in daily engineering tasks.
- Uses professional judgment to creatively resolve complex design challenges.
