Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and sub-systems for high-performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications.  With design, sales and manufacturing locations in over 30 countries, Mini-Circuits’ products are used in a range of wired and wireless communications applications. Our products are also used in detection, measurement and imaging applications, including military communication, guidance and electronic countermeasure systems, commercial, scientific, military land, sea and aircraft; automotive systems, medical systems, and industrial test equipment.

Mini-Circuits’ sells its products to over 20,000 customers globally through our direct sales force, applications engineering staff, sales representatives, as well as through our extensive website.

Salary Range: $98,900 - $148,300 per year

Position Summary:

The Network Engineer position would be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Mini-Circuits global network infrastructure and improving the performance and security of the network. This would enable the Mini-Circuits IT team to meet the business objectives for connectivity to application on the cloud and hosted on our on-prem data center.

Job Function:

  • Resolves hardware and connectivity problems as they arise, escalating issues within the team when appropriate
  • Plan and execute projects to migrate the infrastructure (storage, compute) from on-premises to cloud
  • Configures, tests, and deploys physical and virtual computers and network equipment at our on-premises datacenters and in Azure/AWS
  • Interacts with ISPs to resolve issues and install new circuits
  • Assist in planning of projects and participate in managing initiatives
  • Coordinate with Global IT Infrastructure, support team change/maintenance windows for infrastructure systems and security updates
  • Performs routine software upgrades on network infrastructure to patch vulnerabilities
  • Participates in the change management process: creating, reviewing, implementing, and validating changes
  • Monitors and manages network infrastructure to ensure security, availability, recoverability, performance, and supportability
  • Opens support tickets with vendors when needed to resolve hardware/software issues
  • Stays current with new technologies
  • May have to respond to alerts outside business hours and work on implementations/go live outside business hours
  • Troubleshoot and monitor SD-WAN, Wireless-AP and VOIP systems.  
  • Improve the local network to be more capable, secured and efficient from providing best connectivity for all end users

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field of study with network engineering focus.
  • 5-10+ years of network engineering experience in a multi-site or global organization.
  • Deep knowledge of network infrastructure protocols.
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT.
  • Switches – Required: CISCO, Dell.
  • Understanding of Firewall ACL, syslog, routing.
  • CISCO Meraki, security appliance and wireless AP.
  • Experience with AWS, and Azure.
  • Experience with CISCO ASA.
  • Experience with setting up server rack and cable management.
  • Experience with SD-WAN technology.
  • Experience with configuring networking in VMware a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience with wireshark, network monitoring tools, and network performance tools.
  • Thorough understanding of the latest network principles, techniques, and protocols.
  • Preferred Certifications
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
    • Cisco CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure and CCIE Enterprise Wireless
    • SolarWinds Certified Professional
