Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures, and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and sub-systems for high-performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications.  With design, sales, and manufacturing locations in over 30 countries, Mini-Circuits’ products are used in a range of wired and wireless communications applications. Our products are also used in detection, measurement, and imaging applications, including military communication, guidance, and electronic countermeasure systems, commercial, scientific, military land, sea, and aircraft; automotive systems, medical systems, and industrial test equipment.

Mini-Circuits’ sells its products to over 20,000 customers globally through our direct sales force, applications engineering staff, sales representatives, as well as through our extensive website.

Position Summary:

The Finance Business Partner role allows the employee to see across many different departments and entities at Mini-Circuits (MCL).  This role works with people at all levels of MCL and learns how to navigate the corporate environment to understand how to provide Finance, Sales, and Engineering partners with the items they need to meet business objectives.

The primary responsibilities of the Financial Manager will be to empower the Business Unit Leader, the Product Marketing Manager, and the Product Line Engineer to implement and achieve the current year's business plan.

  • Monitor and address monthly sales growth, product line Gross margin, level of expense, and operating margin achievement.
  • Carefully follow the R&D team model development progress and assess potential risks (sales and cost).
  • Partner with BU leader to engage Sales and Marketing teams, regarding go-to-market strategy and roll-out cost.
  • Focus on the Gross Margin target by ensuring profitable pricing and limiting discount policy but also reviewing the material sourcing process and production strategy.

Salary Range: $93,400 - $140,000 per year

Job Function:

  • Roles:
    • Support BU partners & collaborate on short-term planning.
    • Follow and track current progress.
    • Guide BU partners to achieve all business plan goals.
  • Tasks:
    • Implement short-term business plan
      • Lead detailed sales/revenue stream forecasting process in collaboration with the BU Product Marketing Manager (PMM), Global Market Manager (GMM), and Regional Sales Manager (RSM).
      • Collaborate with the BU partners to Forecast Gross margin, Headcount, R&D, and Commercial expenses to support the growth of your BU while achieving operating Margin Goals.
  • Review
    • Present Monthly business and financial performance to BU and Finance Leader.
    • Follow R&D Product development stages that are consistent with the operating plan.
    • Ensure the business plan aligns with the go-to-market strategy.
  • Adjust and improve
    • Take action to correct current trends with BU partners and achieve short-term goals.
    • Analyze and adjust (reclass entries) Financial statements.
    • Perform variance analysis of important business drivers for performance vs. budget, forecast, and prior year performance.
    • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis related to current business or new projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 7 or more years of Finance and Accounting with:
    • 3-5 Years in FP&A
    • 2 years in accounting
    • 2 years of team management preferred
    • Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel (2 years of everyday experience)
    • Experience with BI Tools and/or Forecasting Tools
  • Strong grasp of business financials.
  • Demonstrate good personal judgment, and effectively handle tasks under pressure.
  • Track records to develop strong relationships, influence thinking, and drive consensus among a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed.
  • Ability to operate comfortably, independently, and effectively in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional, rapidly changing environment.
  • Positive attitude and excitement to contribute and grow!
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and planning tools is strongly preferred.
  • Good analysis and problem-solving skills to address the differing issues presented by the customer as well as the business.
  • Discretion to deal with confidential information.
