Position Summary:

We are looking to hire an Equipment Maintenance and Asset Calibration technician responsible to manage tracking, maintenance and calibration of all in-house production and engineering equipment. Works closely with the various engineering teams, MPE, MAED and Production members to ensure smooth running of engineering and production test and measurement equipment. Monitors the calibration frequency and traceability of inspection, production, and test equipment which can affect product quality.

Salary Range: $31.50 - $36.00 per hour

Job Function:

  • To perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
  • Create/Maintain maintenance procedures and schedules for production equipment.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of electrical, instrumentation and automation systems (Process instrumentation diagrams, block diagrams and drawings).
  • Communicate with machine suppliers regarding possible problems with equipment.
  • Trains production operators on routine preventive maintenance.
  • Coordinate calibration and repair schedule with outside calibration source.
  • Remove equipment from workstations for repair or calibration.
  • Timely notification to departments of required re-calibration and maintenance.
  • Maintain records of certification and calibration.
  • Maintain inventory of all pertinent materials and equipment.
  • Maintain records of pertinent manufacturers’ calibration/repair information.
  • Evaluate calibration results in order to adjust calibration intervals and to classify conditions of use.
  • Enter all new equipment into the database.
  • Perform in-house calibration for selected equipment such as torque wrench, pneumatic/electric screwdriver, wrist strap tester etc.
  • Assure initial certification of all pertinent equipment before use.
  • Work with purchasing to obtain required equipment by gathering information from users and vendors.
  • Receive and sign for all new, calibrated or repaired equipment.
  • Qualify and assign serial numbers for new or modified test fixtures.
  • Revise class of use, shorten or extend calibration cycle intervals, recommend calibration service suppliers, and withdraw from service equipment out of calibration.
  • Identify potential problems and notify team leader/supervisor/manager as necessary.
  • Any other job-related activity as assigned by the supervisor/manager.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or Degree in a technical field (i.e., Electrical Technologies/Technician) and 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Engineering troubleshooting and repair of machines and equipment.
  • Good knowledge of reading blueprints, electrical schematics, and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Proven experience in installation, maintenance trouble shooting set ups, adjustments, and some repair of industrial equipment in mechanical, electrical pneumatic areas.
  • Ability to read, write, and orally communicate in English.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
  • Computer savvy.
