Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and sub-systems for high performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications.  With design, sales and manufacturing locations in over 30 countries, Mini-Circuits’ products are used in a range of wired and wireless communications applications. Our products are also used in detection, measurement and imaging applications, including military communication, guidance and electronic countermeasure systems, commercial, scientific, military land, sea and aircraft; automotive systems, medical systems, and industrial test equipment.
Mini-Circuits’ sells our products to over 20,000 customers globally through our direct sales force, applications engineering staff, sales representatives, as well as through our extensive web site.
Position Summary:
The Inside Sales Manager directly oversees the Key Account and Inside Sales Specialists, acting as a coach and mentor to support the Company vision in providing quality customer service.  The Inside Sales Manager works proactively to manage assigned accounts and regions by seeking new opportunities, developing relationships, and actively participating in customer meetings and visits.  Additionally, the ISM ensures that company resources and efforts are appropriately directed and area representatives are supported to maximize and develop each account to its fullest business potential.
 
Salary Range: $78,000 - $117,000 per year
 
Job Functions:
  • Review customer business activity including but not limited to the customer’s website, press releases, Google alerts and other market inputs, seeking information to support growth of Mini-Circuits activity and increased business with the customer.
  • Perform review of customer quotes to ensure active and prompt quote follow-up as applicable.  Review with Senior Management as needed where there is a potential for or confirmed lost business
  • Perform review of customer’s forecasted demand and order activity, working with Production Control, Material Planning and Management to support 100% on-time delivery.
  • Review New Opportunity files and Customer Contact reports for awareness and needed action.
  • Ensure prompt follow-up of open action items to drive to closure or escalate stalled action item when needed.
  • Review Delivery Ratings and Customer Scorecards; determine actions required for any ratings below 100%.  Review and resolve any discrepancies with customers.  Report any customer complaint or constrained situations that cannot be solved at ISM level to the supervisor.
  • Partner with Mini-Circuits area Representative to support existing customers, build new business and develop new customer accounts, including participating in customer visits and conference calls, follow-up on resulting action items through closure to customer satisfaction.
  • Review all RMAs for assigned accounts for prompt response; implementing preventive actions and closure to customer satisfaction.  Hold meetings on RMA prevention using data from recent department RMAs as a guide.
  • Review annual agreements, contracts, customer requests, terms and conditions and QA clauses (with internal members) as applicable; consult legal or senior management where applicable, support follow-up with customer and rep as applicable.
  • Annual review of department procedures, and updating as needed to current practice.
Other Job Duties:
  • Monitor workload of Inside Sales and Key Account Specialists to ensure prompt attention to customer requests for information, quotes and orders; Meet with direct reports regularly to review customer activity, new issues requiring support, implementation of new procedures, etc.
  • Review open Opportunity files to monitor performance and support Inside Sales and Key Account Specialists; review daily delayed reports for prompt conversion of orders and quotes; provide support for resolution of open issues and guidance as needed.
  • Conduct price reviews including revalidation of quotes or price pages with management approval, including review of commission and evaluate contract negotiations; answer price review requests submitted from Inside Sales Representatives, Inside Sales and Key Account Specialists.
  • Monitor compliance of internal teams for all commitments to assigned customers (e.g. response times; lead time commitments; buffer stock agreements, etc.)
  • Hold meetings with direct reports to review customer activity; new issues requiring support; implementation of new procedures, etc.
  • Determine if problems exist and work with manager for root cause and corrective action.
  • Conduct performance reviews collecting and documenting both good comments and negative inputs, evaluating performance data for continual improvement and training requirements.
  • Make personnel/staffing recommendations for sales team to Customer Service Manager.
Supervisory Responsibility: 
  • Primary supervisor to assigned Key Account and Inside Sales Specialists.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field of study.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a sales related position.
  • 2 years’ experience in a leadership, training or mentorship role (extracurricular roles accepted).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experienced with A/S 400 Customer-Related software.
  • Able to travel ~20% for customer visits and participation in rep seminars and trade shows.
