Salary Range: $67,300 - 96,600 per year  
Position Summary:  
The Product Engineer I will be responsible for bridging the gap between R&D and Production by supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) projects through a structured gated system and will engage internal and external resources to ensure projects are delivered on time, while cost and quality are in line with individual projects requirements and objectives.  
This vital role provides the design engineering team with technical and non-technical support, including component characterization, refinement of simulation models, performance optimization, and debugging of components, test fixtures, and Evaluation Boards (EVBs), and data analysis. Additionally, this role will facilitate the creation of production-level documentation, analyze and recommend improvements to production processes/methods to enable cost reductions and quality assurance.  
Job Function: 
  • Coordinating projects to introduce new products and technologies.
  • Provide engineering support for: 
    • Modeling, characterizing, qualifying, and validating production readiness of components
    • Electrical characterization, validation, optimization, and correlation of test fixtures, EVBs, and test setups
    • Creation of test plans, design of experiments (DOEs), and test block diagrams.
  • Assist in the efficient and cost-effective transition of design prototypes from engineering to production by:
    • Debugging electrical test failures in the production environment and involving multi-disciplinary teams in the process, as required
    • Assisting in setting production-level specs and providing guidance on the overall production test strategy
    • Facilitating the release of production-level documentation
  • Support the Product Change Notice group in coordinating product development activities as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with the Phase Gated Process, Engineering Change Order, and Catalog release processes.
  • Analyze and recommend improvements to production processes and methods to facilitate cost reduction and quality assurance.
  • Prepare status reports on all owned open projects.
  • Assisting business unit leadership and marketing in identifying existing solutions to customer’s applications specific needs.

Qualifications: 
  • Master of Science (M.S.) in Electrical Engineering, strongly preferred or Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering with RF & Microwave Engineering coursework.
  • Electrical Engineer with relevant experience on microwave circuit design, plus one-year relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate project management capabilities.
  • Able to demonstrate real-world lab analysis and debugging capabilities.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with component-level design practices, requirements, and budgeting, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Phase Gated Product Development and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Must have prior experience modeling and simulating in Finite Element (e.g. Ansys HFSS, DS CST, Sonnet, EMPro, Analyst) and Method of Moments simulation software’s (e.g. Keysight Momentum, AWR Axiem, etc.)
  • Must be familiar with basic statistical concepts.
  • Required knowledge of MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Experience with Smartsheet, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of CAD software such as DraftSight, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multi-functional and cross-functional teams to create & support the activities during the life cycle of products, from conception through production within stated time frames.
