Position Summary:
The Product Marketing Engineer (PME) plays a critical role in shaping the product development roadmap for the Low Temperature Co-Fired Ceramic (LTCC) Business Unit (BU) to meet both short- and long-term market demands. This position bridges technical expertise with market insight to support strategic business plans and ensure competitive product positioning.
The PME leverages a deep understanding of markets and customer applications to guide research and development efforts, identifying internal and external technological needs and emerging trends. Responsibilities include providing technical support for sales and business development—both in-field and remotely—while delivering tailored solutions to customer requirements. Additionally, the PME conducts competitive analyses of product portfolios, offerings, and pricing for new and existing products.
By combining technical insight with market intelligence, the PME drives innovation and ensures that LTCC products align with state-of-the-art applications and evolving customer use cases.
Job Function:
Customer & Field Support
- Provide field applications engineering support, assisting customers with product integration into system-level solutions, guiding component selection, and explaining performance trade-offs across different technologies.
- Act as a technical liaison to ensure customer requirements are communicated effectively to internal teams and incorporated into product and technology roadmaps.
- Support sales and business development activities by delivering technical inputs and tailored solutions for customer needs.
- Increase design wins for LTCC products by proactively advocating optimized solutions to customers and demonstrating clear technical and business value.
Product Development & Roadmapping
- Collaborate with development and productization teams by sharing application insights and implementation feedback from field experiences to improve product design and functionality.
- Design and maintain 3- to 5-year product and technology roadmaps aligned with market needs and business objectives.
- Identify and manage strategic partnership opportunities with customers, suppliers, academic institutions, and other relevant groups.
Market Research & Competitive Analysis
- Conduct in-depth market research to produce reports on trends, emerging technologies, and academic advancements.
- Compile and maintain a library of system-level block diagrams for strategic investment markets and applications.
- Monitor and report on current events impacting industry-related activities.
- Perform competitive analyses, including evaluation of specifications, pricing, product performance, customer support, lead times, standards/certifications, and overall customer experience.
- Collaborate with Global Market Managers, Regional Sales Managers, and BU leadership to define TAM, SAM, and SOM for LTCC products.
- Analyze Return on Investment (RoI) for product offerings.
Marketing & Communication
- Create marketing materials and presentations (e.g., sparklers, datasheets, technical collateral) to support go-to-market strategies.
- Publish technology showcases through journals, conferences, and workshops to highlight LTCC technologies and expertise.
Pipeline & Feedback Management
- Develop and manage an opportunity pipeline for LTCC, including a dashboard for tracking and reporting progress.
- Conduct surveys with internal and external customers to identify gaps in offerings, customer service, and technology strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is preferable.
- 1-2+ years of related experience in the RF/Microwave industry or other high-tech industries related to electronics, such as Telecommunications, Aerospace and Defense, Test and Measurement, or Satellite Communication.
- Practical working knowledge of the RF/Microwave industry as an electrical engineer.
- Strong understanding of customers’ business markets and real project management experience, including market research, problem resolution, business development, and tracking the progress of activities.
- Proficiency in data analysis using spreadsheets and modern tools like Salesforce, Tableu, MATLAB, and Python.
- Proven track record of working with customers to provide technical assistance, outstanding customer service, and maximize business opportunities.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting and selling products, including marketing strategies, tactics, and sales techniques is preferred.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to a diverse population.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to listen, ask questions, lead discussions, and articulate customer requests to internal teams.
- Flexibility to conduct business during off-hours to accommodate customer needs in varying time zones.
- Ability to discern key milestones in projects, establish goals, and plan ahead over a one-to-five-year time span.
- Knowledge of publishing platforms and methodologies for academic and industrial outreach.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with and deliver on-time results to Senior Management.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
