MetaPhase is seeking a junior level consultant with 2+ years experience (with at least 1 year consulting experience) to provide programmatic support to our FEMA clients in the Grants Program Directorate. The project team supports multiple clients with the administration of grants, including preparedness grants and cybersecurity grants. Preparedness grants help develop and sustain capabilities at the state and local, tribal and territorial levels and in our nation’s highest-risk transit systems, ports and along our borders to prevent, protect against, respond to, recover from and mitigate terrorism and other high-consequence disasters and emergencies. The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing multiple short- and long-term projects in a collaborative, face-paced, mostly virtual environment.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years experience; at least 1 year experience supporting government or emergency management programs at the Federal, state, or local level is a strong plus.
- Experience with developing professional briefing materials using suite of Microsoft Office tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Visio).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to prepare documents (PowerPoint presentations, FAQs, Fact Sheets, etc.) for external consumption. Experience with technical writing and editing a plus.
- Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently; self-motivation and the ability to drive and own tasks are preferred.
- Work well in a collaborative, yet primarily remote, environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide high quality written communications, with a high degree of proficiency in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Assist with planning and facilitating participation in conferences, meetings, briefings. and/or working groups attended by operating officials and representatives from outside stakeholders.
- Update FEMA templates used in correspondence.
- Create and edit documents in SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or any other format designated by the client.
- Create process improvement mechanisms to help clients organize and track tasks.
