MetaPhase is seeking a ServiceNow Developer-ITSM/CSM who can serve as a hands-on developer for a federal client. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable translating client needs into ServiceNow solutions, advising stakeholders on platform capabilities, and developing/configuring scalable ServiceNow functionality in a collaborative Federal delivery environment. Experience with Public Sector Digital Services (PSDS) is beneficial. 

Role Summary 

The ServiceNow Developer will support the design, development, configuration, testing, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions for Federal clients. This person will act as a trusted technical Developer to project stakeholders, helping clarify requirements, recommend solution options, and develop quality ServiceNow functionality aligned with client objectives. 

The ideal candidate is both technically strong and client-facing: someone who can write and troubleshoot scripts, configure workflows and workspaces, support integrations, document technical decisions, and clearly communicate with non-technical and technical stakeholders. This role may support ITSM, CSM, custom/scoped applications, PSDS-related work, and broader platform enhancement efforts. 

What You Will Be Doing 

  • Serve as a ServiceNow Developerfor a Federal client, configuration options, platform best practices, and practical implementation approaches. 

  • Develop and configure ServiceNow applications, forms, flows, business rules, client scripts, script includes, UI policies, notifications, reports, dashboards, and integration components. 

  • Translate business and technical requirements into ServiceNow designs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation tasks. 

  • Support ITSM, CSM, and related ServiceNow modules; experience with Public Sector Digital Services (PSDS) is a strong plus. 

  • Build and maintain scoped applications and custom ServiceNow functionality using platform tools and modern development practices. 

  • Configure and support ServiceNow Workspaces, UI Builder, Playbook Experiences, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, REST APIs, and MID Server integrations as needed. 

  • Participate in requirements sessions, sprint planning, demos, testing, defect triage, and stakeholder reviews with Federal client teams. 

  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, testers, and delivery leaders to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, reusable, and maintainable. 

  • Document technical designs, configuration decisions, data mappings, process flows, and deployment notes. 

  • Support platform governance, code reviews, release management, and adherence to security, performance, and compliance standards. 

  • Contribute to internal ServiceNow practice growth through reuse of assets, demos, lessons learned, recruiting support, and knowledge sharing. 

What We Need From You (Required) 

  • 4+ years of ServiceNow Developer experience supporting Federal client environments. 

  • Experience developing and configuring ServiceNow platform capabilities such as Flow Designer, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, ACLs, Notifications, Reports, Dashboards, and Service Catalog items. 

  • Experience with JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting, including Glide APIs and server-side/client-side development patterns. 

  • Experience supporting ServiceNow ITSM and/or CSM implementations, enhancements, or sustainment work. 

  • Experience with integrations, including REST APIs, Integration Hub, data imports, transform maps, and/or MID Server. 

  • Ability to work directly with Federal client stakeholders, facilitate technical discussions, and explain solution tradeoffs clearly. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document requirements, designs, decisions, and implementation notes. 

  • Experience supporting Federal clients is required. 

  • U.S. Citizenship is required; ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. 

Nice to Have / Beneficial 

  • Public Sector Digital Services (PSDS) experience or exposure to PSDS-based implementations. 

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and/or Certified Application Developer (CAD). 

  • Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification in ITSM, CSM, or related modules. 

  • Experience with UI Builder, Workspaces, Playbook Experiences, Performance Analytics, Automated Test Framework (ATF), or ServiceNow portal/workspace modernization. 

  • Experience with Agile delivery in Federal consulting environments. 

  • Experience supporting platform upgrades, release testing, defect resolution, and production support. 

  • Exposure to Now Assist, AI capabilities, GenAI use cases, or enterprise AI governance within ServiceNow is a plus.

Compensation
Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is 110-140k
