The New Business and Marketing Departments are an integral part of Mediacom’s advancement. Their main purpose is  build and grow the company by aggressively prospecting new business opportunities, responding to new business RFIs and RFPs, both locally and globally, and generate buzz around the agency.

The Project Manager, Business Development and Marketing is responsible for coordinating and managing departmental activities to ensure the effective operations of both departments. The focus will be to deliver projects within scope, on time and on budget. 

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Manage, Support, and/or coordinate resources engaged in project delivery
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, workbacks and estimated budget scope
  • Manage project deliverables and performance in line with approved project plans
  • Create and manage the department’s PO’s and track departmental expenditures
  • Act as the central distribution point for all materials
  • Stock inventory of MediaCom collateral and presentation materials
  • Accountable for taking notes during meetings, conference report generation and distribution
  • Assist in cataloguing, writing, proofing and designing of presentations, including RFI’s and agency collateral materials
  • Update agency reports as needed and prepare presentations, as required
  • Coordinate and manage all presentation materials with design and production teams, where necessary
  • Assist in the creation and writing of agency announcements
  • Manage agency documents ensuring that they are current, including RFI responses, client lists, etc.
  • Manage international and other report requests under the directive of your superior
  • Community management and content curation for MediaCom Canada’s socials
  • Fully understand and comply with branding guidelines and serve as a “brand ambassador” for the agency
  • Assist in the creation and execution and of marketing activities including press, events and branding the physical office space
  • Manage and coordinate the deployment of MediaCom CRM initiatives.
  • Support the writing and submission of agency awards
  • Coordinate and manage budgets and production for new business pitches
  • Conduct ad hoc research on prospective new business at Director discretion
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned

Skills and Behaviour:   

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and MS Project
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, both internally and externally
  • Effective written communications skills, including skill in proofreading for grammar and spelling
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, and working with cross functional team
  • Ability to work successfully within a team as well as independently
  • Ability to work with tight deadline and irregular work hours (occasional late nights and weekends)
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity including the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure
  • Proven credibility gained by consistently delivering on commitments
  • Demonstrated ability to move across a range of projects over time
  • Excellent client management skills, negotiation and problem-resolution skills
  • Detail-oriented, including the ability to identify important details, ensuring things are not overlooked and delivering a consistently high quality of work, keeping the overall goals of the project in mind
  • Ability to co-coordinate projects simultaneously by using effective planning, organization and management skills
  • Ability to manage expectations regarding business requirements and results and ensuring quality
  • Highly articulate
  • Strong work ethic, demonstrated ability to work in a highly confidential environment

Education and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a project management role within advertising / marketing
  • Post-secondary degree, PM certificate and PMP designation an asset
  • In-design/illustrator/PhotoShop skills a key asset
  • CRM experience an asset
