Senior Associate - Content Writer



We are seeking a Senior Associate Content Writer to join Mediacom’s Creative Systems team to support the execution of organic search content. In this role, you will write creative, effective, and data-driven search engine optimized (SEO) content for our financial services client. This is a truly fantastic opportunity to get in early with a growing, cohesive, positive, high-potential team as we build out a best-in-class content practice at scale.   • Generate keyword and editorial based story ideas for one or more lines of business 
  • Outline and write polished search engine optimized financial services article content at moderate to high volume (~one article per day) that is strong in logic, flow, information, and style
  • Plan, research, and write search optimized product pages with keyword-driven FAQ content
  • Become an expert practitioner in on-page SEO techniques for keyword-oriented content writing
  • Research and simplify complex ideas to make them understandable and engaging for a general audience
  • Maintain consistency, reliability, and accuracy while meeting regular, achievable deadlines
  • Evolve as a support editor and proofer
  • Be a great team member



  • An academic degree in a related field with one to five years of professional content writing experience
  • Working knowledge of keywording best practices (on-page)
  • Experience working with a defined content strategy and production flow
  • Be able to show and discuss previous content writing experience (in PDF, digital portfolio, site, or other medium)
  • A positive attitude with a natural inclination to learn, absorb feedback, and improve
  • Desire to contribute to a highly cohesive and positive team, while being able to fly solo when necessary
  • Familiarity with content and/or project management systems (Contently, Asana)
  • Financial services industry experience a big plus
  • Be within commuting distance to the New York City financial district when partial, in-office hours resume, TBD
